<br /> MINUTES OF REGULAR ADJOURNED MEETING
<br /> REDWOOD CITY COUNCIL
<br /> AUGUST g , 1938
<br /> 8 : 00 P . M.
<br /> Upon roll call the following Councilmen were present : Councilmen H . F. Anderson,
<br /> E . A. Fletcher , Wm. Rohn , Robert N . Jones , Paul A . McCarthy , Geo . W. McNulty,
<br /> the City Clerk B . E . Myers ; absent , Mayor L. C . Christensen.
<br /> In the absence of Mayor Christensen , on motion of Councilman Fletcher , seconded by
<br /> Councilman Anderson , Councilman McCarthy was chosen to serve as chairman .
<br /> Councilman McNulty , seconded by Councilman Anderson , moved the introduction of
<br /> ordinance fixing the amount of money to be raised by taxation for the ensuing
<br /> fiscal year . Carried.
<br /> K . A . Winter asked permission to subdivide into 20 lots , as per sketch submitted ,
<br /> Lots 21 to 28 inclusive of Oakwood Park. Mr . Winter told the Council that the
<br /> Planning Commission had approved his request . On motion of Councilman Fletcher ,
<br /> seconded by Councilman Anderson, permission to subdivide as requested was given
<br /> with the understanding that written recommendation would be forthcoming from
<br /> the Planning Commission.
<br /> On motion of Councilman Fletcher , seconded by Councilman McNulty , permits to sub-
<br /> divide as indicated below were granted with the understanding that written
<br /> recommendation would be forthcoming from the Planning Commission.
<br /> 1 ) David Holder was given permission to subdivide Lot 3 , Block 1 , Oak Knoll
<br /> Manor , into two lots , each 50 ' front by 139 . 77 ' deep , and also to sub-
<br /> divide Lots 4 , 5 , and 6 into five equal lots of 55 . 25 ' front by 139 . 77 '
<br /> Deep .
<br /> 2 ) John Coryell was given permission to subdivide Lot 4 , Block 4 , Oak Knoll
<br /> Manor , into three lots , two side lots to be 75. 50' front by 166 . 53 ' deep
<br /> and the center lot 110 . 50 ' front by 131 .0 ' deep , and also to subdivide
<br /> Lot 11 , Block 1 , Oak Knoll Manor , into two lots 50 . 0 ' front by 139 . 77 '
<br /> deep .
<br /> 3) Teddy Lauman was given permission to subdivide Lots 2 and 3 , Block 4 , Oak
<br /> Knoll Manor, into four lots 50 ' front and 166 . 53 ' deep .
<br /> 4 ) Kenneth McCloud was given permission to subdivide Lot 10 , Block 1 , Oak
<br /> Knoll Manor , into two lots 50 ' front by 139 . 77 ' deep .
<br /> H. L . Sanders asked permission to replace his present wooden sign at 1903 El Camino
<br /> Real by a neon sign which would extend from the building more than 4 feet . The
<br /> Council did not feel justified in making any exception to the ordinance and
<br /> therefore denied the request .
<br /> H . A. Beeger , representing the Port Commission, spoke to the Council concerning further
<br /> capital expenditures at the Port and said that the Commission recommended that
<br /> the City accept the offer of $39 , 522 made by the Federal Government toward the
<br /> construction contemplated. As it was necessary to accept the offer promptly , the
<br /> City Manager , on motion of Councilman Anderson , seconded by Councilman Fletcher,
<br /> was authorized to inform the government accordingly and accept the proposal .
