4`L2 <br /> MINUTES OF REGULAR MEETING <br /> REDWOOD CITY COUNCIL <br /> AUGUST 15 , 1938 <br /> 8 : 00 P . M . <br /> A regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Redwood City was held on the <br /> 15th day of August , 193g . <br /> The meeting was called to order by the City Clerk and on roll call the following <br /> answered present : H. F . Anderson , E . A. Fletcher , Wm. Hohn , R. N. Jones , <br /> G. W. McNulty. <br /> The following were absent : Mayor L . C. Christensen , P. A. McCarthy. <br /> On motion duly made by Councilman Rohn, seconded by Councilman Anderson and carried, <br /> R. N. Jones was elected Mayor Pro Tem. <br /> The minutes of the meeting of August 1 and of adjourned meeting of August g were <br /> approved on motion of Councilman McNulty , seconded by Councilman Fletcher. <br /> The City Tax Collector submitted letter asking certain reductions in the amount due <br /> on Lots 1 and 2 , Block 2 , Boyd and Kent Addition, in the name of G. Bulleri , <br /> but as there was some difference of opinion as to what to do , it was decided <br /> to withhold decision until later . <br /> W. H. Webb was given a plumbing license for business at 2775 El Camino Real on motion <br /> of Councilman McNulty , seconded by Councilman Anderson . <br /> The Clerk read a letter from the Southern Pacific Company concerning the Jefferson <br /> Avenue crossing of the railroad tracks , in which Mr. Jordan stated that the <br /> local freight crews would protect the crossing at the time switching was being <br /> done . The City Manager indicated he would keep track of the situation to see <br /> that there was adequate protection at this crossing. <br /> There was read a letter from the Chamber of Commerce approving the allocation of $71 <br /> from its Publicity Fund for recreation expenses as follows : Cross Country Run , <br /> $30 ; Harbor Swim, $35 ; Official Ribbons , $ 6 . <br /> In a letter to the Council , Duncan Reynard, President of the Chamber of Commerce , <br /> conveyed the information that by formal motion the chamber urged immediate <br /> activity to get the delinquent parcels of land back on the assessment roll . <br /> The Clerk was instructed to tell him that the matter was being handled by the <br /> California Pacific Title and Trust Company . <br /> Councilman McNulty , seconded by Councilman Anderson , proposed the adoption of the <br /> following Resolution . Carried. <br />
