4`L2 MINUTES OF REGULAR MEETING REDWOOD CITY COUNCIL AUGUST 15 , 1938 8 : 00 P . M . A regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Redwood City was held on the 15th day of August , 193g . The meeting was called to order by the City Clerk and on roll call the following answered present : H. F . Anderson , E . A. Fletcher , Wm. Hohn , R. N. Jones , G. W. McNulty. The following were absent : Mayor L . C. Christensen , P. A. McCarthy. On motion duly made by Councilman Rohn, seconded by Councilman Anderson and carried, R. N. Jones was elected Mayor Pro Tem. The minutes of the meeting of August 1 and of adjourned meeting of August g were approved on motion of Councilman McNulty , seconded by Councilman Fletcher. The City Tax Collector submitted letter asking certain reductions in the amount due on Lots 1 and 2 , Block 2 , Boyd and Kent Addition, in the name of G. Bulleri , but as there was some difference of opinion as to what to do , it was decided to withhold decision until later . W. H. Webb was given a plumbing license for business at 2775 El Camino Real on motion of Councilman McNulty , seconded by Councilman Anderson . The Clerk read a letter from the Southern Pacific Company concerning the Jefferson Avenue crossing of the railroad tracks , in which Mr. Jordan stated that the local freight crews would protect the crossing at the time switching was being done . The City Manager indicated he would keep track of the situation to see that there was adequate protection at this crossing. There was read a letter from the Chamber of Commerce approving the allocation of $71 from its Publicity Fund for recreation expenses as follows : Cross Country Run , $30 ; Harbor Swim, $35 ; Official Ribbons , $ 6 . In a letter to the Council , Duncan Reynard, President of the Chamber of Commerce , conveyed the information that by formal motion the chamber urged immediate activity to get the delinquent parcels of land back on the assessment roll . The Clerk was instructed to tell him that the matter was being handled by the California Pacific Title and Trust Company . Councilman McNulty , seconded by Councilman Anderson , proposed the adoption of the following Resolution . Carried.
