442 <br /> Beckman was given permission to build a house at least 40 feet wide with a 4. foot <br /> clearance at the property line . <br /> A representative of the Seaside Oil Company asked permission to move a steel and glass <br /> structure to the corner of Jefferson Avenue and El Camino Real in connection with <br /> the Anderson Service Station . After he had explained the use of the building <br /> and its location of the lot , he was given permission to make the installation <br /> on motion of Councilman Anderson, seconded by Councilman McNulty. <br /> Dr . August Fromm , Jr . , accompanied by L. E . Wolbert and Captain L . F. Bosshardt , <br /> addressed the Council concerning the desirability and feasibility of taking <br /> action to control boys and young men leaving for the San Francisco Bay region <br /> in small boats improperly furnished , with the view of preventing further deaths <br /> similar to those of a few days ago . The Council indicated its accord with the <br /> proposed action , but explained that jurisdiction of the Yacht Harbor area now <br /> rested with the Port Commission, and it was recommended that the matter be laid <br /> before the Port Commission at its next meeting , Tuesday, September 20 , with the <br /> understanding that the Council favored doing something to bring about the result <br /> desired by all concerned . <br /> Joe J. Viercke was given license to operate a restaurant at 2074 Broadway on motion <br /> of Councilman Fletcher , seconded by Councilman McNulty , <br /> The City Collector submitted the following letter : <br /> "On September 1 , 1938, City Manager C . L .
