2. Housing and Human Concerns Commission (four four -year terms, expiring <br />May 31, 2008. The following applicants were considered for appointment with <br />the votes as noted below: <br />• Denise Brosseau — Council Members Bain, Foust, Ruskin, Vice Mayor <br />Pierce and Mayor Ira <br />• Karen Brunton - Council Members Bain, Foust, Howard, Ruskin, Vice <br />Mayor Pierce and Mayor Ira <br />• John Dempsey — Council Members Bain, Howard, Ruskin and Mayor <br />Ira (tie vote with Marc Manuel) <br />• Cecilia Ellis <br />• Charles Greer — Council Members Foust, Howard, Ruskin, Vice Mayor <br />Pierce and Mayor Ira <br />• Marc Manuel — Council Members Bain, Foust, Howard and Vice <br />Mayor Pierce (tie vote with John Dempsey) <br />• Shawn White <br />The first roll call vote resulted in the following successful applicants being <br />appointed to three of the four four -year terms expiring May 31, 2008: Denise <br />Brosseau, Karen Brunton and Charles Greer. <br />A second vote was taken for the fourth term with the following resulting vote: <br />• John Dempsey — Council Members Bain, Howard, Ruskin and Mayor <br />Ira <br />• Marc Manuel — Council Members Foust and Vice Mayor Pierce <br />The successful applicant resulting from the second vote for the fourth four -year <br />term expiring May 31, 2008 was John Dempsey. MINUTE ORDER 04 -140 <br />C. Mayor Ira — stated that the Grand Marshall of the Fourth of July parade was <br />Major Shawn Phillips and that he and Vice Mayor Pierce had dinner with Major <br />Phillips and his family. He further stated that there is a strong interest in <br />Redwood City adopting a unit under the guidelines of "America Supporting <br />Americans ".
