INc. <br /> ARCHITECTURE <br /> San Mateo County Courthouse South Annex Pre-Demolition Recordation <br /> Redwood City, California <br /> July 20, 2004 <br /> PHASE TWO <br /> PROPOSED SCOPE OF SERVICES <br /> At the request of the City of Redwood City, Carey & Co. proposes the following Scope of Services to <br /> prepare photographic and documentary recordation of the San Mateo County Courthouse South Annex <br /> prior to demolition, The appropriate level of recordation of this building is described in recommended <br /> mitigation measure #1, found on page 14 of San Mateo County Courthouse South Annex Historic Building <br /> Survey (April 2002). The recordation consists of three tasks: (1) a full set of archival black and white <br /> photographs; (2) copies of original and existing conditions drawings reproduced on archivally-stable <br /> mylar; and (3) copies of the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP) nomination and the San <br /> Mateo County Courthouse South Annex Historic Building Survey (April 2002) document on archival bond <br /> paper. <br /> This Proposed Scope of Services addresses the need for recordation as Phase Two of two phases. Phase <br /> Two will consist of reproducing the building drawings and preparing the archival copies of the written <br /> documentation. <br /> Phase Two; Scope of Services <br /> 1. Drawings. Reproduce the original drawings of the South Annex (in the possession of the San Mateo <br /> County Historical Association) and existing conditions drawings (in the possession of DES <br /> Architects + Engineers). The recommended mitigation measure calls for reproduction onto archival <br /> mylar medium. However, due to the fragility of the original drawings, the city's archivist is reluctant <br /> to have the drawings subjected to reproduction processes that may damage or otherwise compromise <br /> the drawings' physical integrity. Due to this concern, Carey & Co. will investigate alternate <br /> methods of reproducing the drawings such as copy photography. <br /> 2. Written documentation. Reproduce the NRHP nomination on archival bond paper and the San <br /> Mateo County Courthouse South Annex Historic Building Survey (April 2002) document on archival <br /> bond paper. <br /> 3. Distribution. One set of archival drawings and archival written documentation will be provided to <br /> the San Mateo County Historical Association. One set of archival drawings and archival written <br /> documentation will be provided to the City of Redwood City Library. <br /> Cost Proposal; Pending <br /> Carey & Co. will undertake the scope of services for fee not to exceed $TBD without prior written <br /> .- -. ..
