Mayor La Berge declared the Public Hearing open at 8:48 p.m. and invited <br />anyone who wished to speak to please do so. <br />No one wished to speak. <br />M /S: Bury /Buchan to close the Public Hearing. <br />Carried by unanimous voice vote and the Public Hearing closed at 8:49 p.m. <br />Affidavit of publication is on file. <br />Title read. M /S: Greenalch /Murray <br />RESOLUTION NO. 11361 AMENDING CONFLICT OF INTEREST CODE FOR THE CITY OF <br />REDWOOD CITY <br />Adopted by unanimous roll call vote. <br />-------------------------------------------------------------------------- - - - - -- <br />ORAL COMMUNICATIONS <br />a. Patricia Dixon, 16 Admiralty Place, Redwood City urged the Council to <br />develop Redwood Creek the same way San Antonio, Texas developed their <br />"Riverwalk" and also submitted a river taxi guide brochure. <br />b. Vic Holbrook, 28 Diller Street, suggested that Madison Avenue be turned into <br />a one -way street to relieve some of the traffic congestion. <br />MATTERS OF COUNCIL INTEREST <br />6. ABAG Land Use Policy Report by Vice Mayor Bury (704 -04) <br />Vice Mayor Bury provided background and future goals of the current ABAG <br />Land Use policy and advised that he and County Supervisor Griffin voted in <br />favor of the proposed policy. <br />MEMO 8/15/90 <br />-------------------------------------------------------------------------- - - - - -- <br />7. City /County Association of Governments Report by Mayor La Berge (704 -04) <br />Mayor La Berge reported on the progress and necessity of the San Mateo <br />County Association of Governments and a regional approach to regional <br />issues. Mayor La Berge advised the cities of San Mateo County were in the <br />vanguard of regional thinking and asked for Council support, and advised the <br />Council of Mayors would soon become the Council of Cities. <br />Council members stated their support for a regional approach but cautioned <br />that an organization without funding or staffing will always be ineffective, <br />Also, it will be difficult to insure economic viability and political <br />decision making for each entity while pursuing regional decisions. <br />Minutes <br />MINUTE BOOK NO. 50 August 13, 1990 <br />Page No. 040 Page 6 <br />
