City Manager Smith explained the financing as 1/3 from the County, 1/3 from <br />the big cities (over 50,000 population) and 1/3 from the smaller cities. <br />CONSENSUS: Mayor La Berge determined it to be the consensus of the Council <br />to support the San Mateo County Association of Governments in concept and <br />offer support for adequate funding and staffing. <br />MEMO 8/15/90 <br />-------------------------------------------------------------------------- - - - - -- <br />8. "Shakespeare in the Schools" request for support (413 -03) <br />M /S: Greenalch /Murray to write a letter to the "Shakespeare in the Schools" <br />thanking them for their efforts in bringing Shakespeare to our students and <br />advising them the Mayor would be glad to have her picture taken with the <br />actors and students; to help find support in the community; and refer to the <br />Civic Cultural Commission. <br />Carried by unanimous voice vote. <br />MINUTE ORDER NO. 90 -113 <br />9a. Councilwoman Buchan invited everyone to attend the "Just Say NO to Drugs" <br />campaign Mixed Doubles Tennis Tournament sponsored by the Redwood City <br />Police Department on August 18th and 19th at the Peninsula Covenant Church <br />at 3560 Farm Hill Blvd. This is the one event each year to raise funds to <br />fight drug abuse in Redwood City. <br />9b. Mayor La Berge recognized Councilwoman Buchan as the Redwood City <br />representative to the Anti -Drug conference in Oakland, California October <br />17th and 18th. <br />9c. Mayor La Berge urged fellow Council Members to attend the important <br />conferences scheduled in the near future which would benefit the City. <br />9d.
