Funding for the Historic Preservation of Union Cemetery Historic Site <br />(1501 -04) <br />Report: Parks, Recreation and Community Services Director, 9/6/90 <br />Director Griffiths thanked Nita Spangler, Jean Cloud, Helen Graves and Susan <br />Swope for their work on the Union Cemetery Historic Site Committee and <br />introduced Parks and Recreation Commission member Susan Swope who introduced <br />Thad Van Buren, Archaeologist from the California State Office of Historic <br />Resources. In response to Council questions, Mr. Van Buren described the <br />advantages of establishing a Resource Management Plan; the availability of <br />experts to respond to an RFP; the need for volunteers; and offered his time <br />and expertise in furtherance of the stated goals of the Plan. <br />Title read.
