Mayor La Berge presented background on Redwood City's support of the <br />sponsoring agencies of this forum and asked for a Council representative <br />to attend. Council discussed importance of this forum and also other <br />commitments on 10/25. Councilwoman Buchan advised she would work it into <br />her schedule if no other Council Members were available to attend. <br />2b. Councilman Murray advised he will attend the Land use and Transportation <br />subcommittee of the Regional Planning Committee on october 25, 1990 when the <br />topic will be the location of the BART station at the airport, with <br />Supervisor Nolan, Airport Manager Turpen and State Senator Kopp. <br />2c. Vice Mayor Bury described the Mayor's annual recognition luncheon for the <br />presidents of Redwood City's service organizations held at Lathrop House <br />October 8th. Mayor La Berge gave special thanks to Park and Recreation <br />Supervisor Sally Hartman for making the awards luncheon such a success. <br />2d. Councilwoman Buchan advised six more volunteers were needed for the Red <br />Ribbon Carnival, Saturday, October 27th, 2:30 -5:30 pm, Red Morton Park. <br />2e. Councilwoman Buchan reported on the Southern Pacific right -of -way clean -up <br />held on Saturday, October 6th and advised 10.5 tons of debris and weeds were <br />removed. Councilwoman Buchan thanked the 30 volunteers and advised she <br />would be contacting Southern Pacific to enlist their support of this effort <br />sponsored by the Pride and Beautification Committee. <br />2f. Councilman Greenalch advised Council of the Elected Officials Summit on <br />Substance Abuse Prevention, 8:30 am -1:30 pm, October 27th with County <br />Manager Maltbie and San Mateo Community College District Chancellor <br />Smith and asked for two Council Members to represent the City. <br />2g.
