Citywide Transportation Plan: Scope of Work B.B. - Page 12
October 2016
workshop will be approximately two to three hours long and will be in a format where the public
can drop in and participate at any time. The Fehr& Peers team will facilitate the workshop and will
prepare all materials. Fehr& Peers and/or Eileen Goodwin will document the findings, responding
to one round of consolidated comments. Fehr & Peers will arrange the meeting space, provide
food and/or refreshments, and provide advertising printing services. The City will advertise the
meetings and distribute outreach materials to stakeholder groups. Fehr & Peers will develop the
advertising material in Spanish and English and provide a Spanish language translator for each
workshop.
Deliverables:Materials for and attendance at up to two (2)public workshops. Draft and final
workshop summaries.
Redwood City Conversations
We will work with the City to identify up to two (2) guest speakers to present on key urban design
and transportation topics in coordination with the Redwood City Conversations initiative. We have
assumed the City will pay for any speaker fees and travel costs, secure the venue(s), and advertise
the series.
Deliverables:Attendance at one conference call to brainstorm speaker topics/ideas. Email or
phone contact with up to three(3)speakers (assuming only two will ultimately be available).
Draft and final flyers for each event.
Optional - Living Previews
As the Plan nears completion, we will work with the City to select up to two (2) locations to deploy
"living preview" exhibits. These tactical urbanist installations will illustrate key Plan
recommendations and allow the public to walk or bike through the treatment(such as a traffic circle
or cycle track) to better understand how it will operate. They also serve a practical design role,
where operational considerations can be refined and geometric details adjusted. Finally,
emergency services or transit vehicles can test drive the sites as needed. Living previews can build
community consensus for a design and also position the City effectively for competitive grants. We
have assumed two, one-block or one-intersection treatments and no permit fees. We also assume
the City will provide materials (generally available from the maintenance/public works
departments). We will prepare a traffic control plan for each installation and respond to one round
of consolidated comments. We will provide staff to install, monitor, and take down each site, with
an assumed display period of up to four(4) hours.
