8.3.B. - Page 58 <br /> 7.4.3 Compensatory Time <br /> Upon request employees represented by the Association shall be compensated <br /> for such overtime in compensatory time off to a maximum accumulation of <br /> eighty(80) hours of compensatory time off. <br /> 7.4.4 Overtime Compensation for Lieutenants <br /> Lieutenants shall be non-exempt employees and are eligible for and shall receive <br /> overtime compensation in accordance with the Fair Labor Standards Act <br /> (FLSA). <br /> 7.5 Premium Pay <br /> Police Sergeants assigned to Investigations, Street Crime Suppression Team;Downtown <br /> Services Unit, Traffic, Training,for Narcotics Task Force, shall receive premium pay <br /> of five percent(5%)of the employee's base pay. <br /> Police Sergeants who are regularly assigned to swing shift (C-Watch), night shift (A- <br /> Watch), or who are assigned as the relief sergeant shall receive premium pay in the <br /> amount of five percent (5%) of the employee's base pay. Any employee who is placed <br /> on a modified schedule shall receive five percent (5%) premium pay if the majority of <br /> their assigned hours fall between the hours of 2:00 pm and 6:00 am, <br /> 7.6 Court Pay <br /> An off-duty employee who is subpoenaed to appear in court in cases in which the City is <br /> a party shall be compensated at one and one-half (1.5) times the employee's regular <br /> straight-time rate for all hours the employee is so ordered by the City to appear with a <br /> minimum of three (3) hours. The exceptions will be for those employees whose shift <br /> begins less than three(3) hours before the subpoenaed time of appearance, or appears by <br /> telephone. <br /> Any employee who is subpoenaed to court less than three (3) hours before the start of <br /> their scheduled shift shall be compensated for the amount of time before the actual shift <br /> begins. The three(3) hour court minimum will not apply. <br /> Any off duty employee subpoenaed to a hearing in which their appearance is <br /> accomplished by telephone have two options. First, they may appear at the Redwood <br /> City Police Department and telephone the hearing officer from the police department and <br /> receive compensation as if they attended court in person with a three (3) hour minimum. <br /> Or second, they may make the telephone call from any location they wish and receive <br /> compensation for the duration of their call or a court minimum of two (2) hours for this <br /> type of appearance. <br /> The employee shall be compensated at one and one-half (1.5) times the employee's <br /> regular straight-time rate of pay for hours worked in excess of his/her regularly <br /> scheduled hours and for hours he/she is required to spend attending court proceedings. <br /> 12 <br />
