8.3.B. - Page 59 <br /> Employees -Police Sergeants are to receive three-quarters of one percent (0.75%) <br /> adjustment to base salary in lieu of a fourth hour of court pay. <br /> 7.7 Uniform Allowance and Safety Equipment <br /> Body armor shall not be required unless a Police Sergeant or Police Lieutenant is <br /> working in uniform in an enforcement capacity or taking part in Department range <br /> training. For the purposes of this section, Police Sergeants and Police Lieutenants are <br /> not considered to be working in an enforcement capacity when appearing in court. <br /> Police Sergeants assigned as a Detective Sergeant or Police Lieutenants assigned as the <br /> Investigations Division Commander shall not be required to wear body armor unless they <br /> are involved in a pre-planned raid or arrest scenario of an anticipated suspect, or when <br /> directed by a supervisor. <br /> Police Sergeants and Police Lieutenants may be excused from wearing body armor when <br /> they are functioning primarily in an administrative or support capacity, or when medical <br /> clearance has been provided by a valid medical authority. <br /> 7.7.1 The City will insure that all new Police Sergeants and Police Lieutenants have or <br /> are provided the following articles of Regular Duty Uniform clothing: <br /> 3 pairs of pants <br /> 3 long-sleeve shirts <br /> 3 short-sleeve shirts <br /> 1 underbelt <br /> 1 cold weather(non-leather)jacket with patches <br /> 1 dress cap or baseball cap with patch(officer's choice) <br /> I dress tie <br /> 2 name tags <br /> $1 25.00 maximum annual reimbursement for boots(purchase or resoling). <br /> The City will also provide and maintain the following Utility Uniform to be <br /> worn at the direction of the Police Chief or his/her designee: <br /> 1 pair utility pants <br /> 1 long-sleeve utility shirt <br /> 1 short-sleeve utility shirt <br /> 7.7.2 The City will provide for cleaning, altering, repairing and/or replacement of <br /> damaged uniforms as authorized by the Police Chief or his/her designee. <br /> Such furnished uniforms shall remain the property of and under the control of <br /> the City. <br /> At the end of each fiscal year, the Finance Department will calculate the total <br /> cost of cleaning, altering, repairing and/or replacement of damaged uniforms. <br /> This total cost will be divided by the number of Po1i e Sergeant employees who <br /> have been assigned to patrol duty during the fiscal year.
