From:CD-Jessica Manzi
To:CD-Stacy Nicol
Subject:FW: Want to give feedback
Date:Tuesday, October 18, 2016 8:51:10 AM
Jessica Manzi, PE
Community Development Department
Phone: (650)780-7372
From: Lynn & Pamela Chang [] Sent: Monday, October 17, 2016
10:31 PM
To: GRP-Farm Hill Feedback <farmhillfeedback@redwoodcity.org>
Subject: Want to give feedback
Hello,
I could not attend the meeting due to family medical issues (my daughter hit her head on the
ice while skating that day). I would like to share that while I can understand the committee's
recommendation to make the current layout permanent,
I think more needs to be done to make the traffic flow better. It takes so long now to go down
Farm HIll. Traffic is backed up especially during morning commute hours. And people are in
such a rush at the Emerald Hill and Farm HIll intersection
that sometimes I have to be "assertive" about making my left turn from Emerald Hill to Farm
Hill; otherwise the cars going up and down Farm Hill will not wait for those at the Emerald Hill
stop sign to take their turn.
Turning from Cambridge onto Farm Hill is nightmarish as well. It seems that drivers are so
frustrated going up Farm Hill so slowly that by the time they reach the Emerald Hill stop sign,
they don't want to make a full stop and they certainly don't want to
slow down to allow someone to turn onto Farm Hill from Cambridge.
Perhaps as the population in RWC grows and traffic worsens on Farm Hill, traffic lights will be
necessary at the Farm Hill / Emeral Hill interseciton. As it stands now, it is already challenging
getting out of the Farm Hill neighborhood down to
the downtown area on a daily basis, especially during morning commute hours.
Sincerely,
Pam Chang
8.A. - Page 58
