WRITTEN COMMUNICATIONS

12. Request by Mr. Paul Klass to discuss Kiwani's Field

Mr. Klass was unable to attend the meeting and Vice Mayor Bury rescheduled
this item to February 11, 1991. (101-05)

MEMO 1/29/1991

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Vice Mayor Bury announced that several Redwood City employees have served and
are serving in the military during this war with Iraq, including Police Sergeant
Rodrigues, Roger Cain, Police Officer Michael Lutticken, Mike Gibbons, and we
should keep these men and all the others who will serve, in our thoughts and
in our hearts.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

PUBLIC HEARINGS
13. CONTINUED OPEN PUBLIC HEARING - Master Cable TV Agreement (1201-04)

Report: City Manager, 9/25/90
Affidavits of Notice of Public Hearing publications on file.

Brian Ponty, Assistant Finance Director, presented the new agreement.

At 7:50 p.m. Vice Mayor Bury reminded everyone that the public hearing was
continued open from January 14, 1991 and invited anyone who wished to speak
to please do so.

Carl Kriletich, 70 Foss Drive, Redwood City advised Council that the
homeowners on Foss Drive have tried for years to have cable brought to their
homes, but have been unsuccessful as TCI, Inc. has been unwilling to work
with underground utilities in that area.

Assistant Director Ponty advised the new agreement will provide cable access
to all residential units in Redwood City, including Foss Drive; that the new
agreement will supersede the current agreement; if the system rebuild is
completed within two years, the agreement will extend to 17 years; but if the
rebuild takes up to the maximum 3 and one half years, then the agreement will
extend to 12 years only. City Manager Smith and Assistant Director Ponty
advised they would argue for rebuilding Redwood City first as Redwood City is
is the first City to approve the JPA.

M/S: Stangel/Buchan to close the public hearing.
Carried by unanimous voice vote and public hearing closed at 8:10 p.m.

Title read.
