<br />Matt Pietro, appellant, 644 Portofino Lane, Foster City described other new <br />new buildings in Redwood City and their stucco composition, and added that <br />he could not tell from the original drawings that the completed building <br />would be so massive and garage-like. <br /> <br />Mike Pietro, owner of 510 Veterans Boulevard property, advised that no other <br />building in Redwood City is all brick; that permits have been issued to <br />other stucco buildings; and, brick columns and brick around the windows <br />would be maintained. <br /> <br />Mayor La Berge asked if anyone else wished to speak. <br />speak. <br /> <br />M/S: Greenalch/Stangel to close the public hearing. <br />Carried by unanimous voice vote and hearing closed at 8:03 p.m. <br /> <br />No one else wished to <br /> <br />Council Members discussed original plans approval; need for architectural <br />features; incongruity of brick and cement as it is obvious it is a brick <br />veneer; loss of original roof as architectural feature; and need for <br />permit agreements to be kept. Councilman Stangel suggested so much brick <br />would indeed be overpowering. <br /> <br />M/S: Claire/Murray to deny appeal of Zoning Administrator's decision <br />denying architectural permit to revise building elevations with the <br />following findings: <br /> <br />"FINDINGS: <br /> <br />The denial is based on the findings that the proposed change in design lacks <br />design continuity and creates a monotonous appearance in contravention of <br />Zoning Ordinance Section 45.8A and that the proposed design does not conform <br />to the general character of the other structures in the vicinity contrary to <br />the provisions of Zoning Ordinance Section 45.8C." <br /> <br />Carried by the following vote: <br />AYES: Council Members Buchan, Bury, Claire, Greenalch, Murray and <br />Mayor La Berge <br />NOES: Councilman Stangel <br /> <br />MINUTE ORDER NO. 90-035 <br /> <br />------------------------------------------------------------------------------- <br /> <br />c.
