CITY OF REDWOOD CITY <br /> ANNUAL ACTION PLAN <br /> OBJECTIVES & PRIORITIES <br /> TO BE MET DURING FY 2002-2003 <br /> <br /> Mission Statement <br /> <br />Redwood City's Mission Statement is to promote affordable housing by monitoring <br />changing social needs in the community, and ensure that the heeds of all income levels <br />are given sufficient consideration in the approval of housing developments to provide: <br /> <br /> · diversity and balance of housing types and affordability within all geographical locations, <br /> <br /> · affordability levels for all income groups and special needs populations. <br /> <br />The target group to be assisted under each goal is households with incomes at or below <br />80% of median. <br /> <br />STRATEGY IMPLEMENTATION NEEDS, GOALS, AND PRIORITIES: Redwood City <br />proposes to adopt priorities to implement this strategy as follows in the rank order that <br />funds and assistance will be targeted: <br /> <br /> 1. Increase the availability of affordable housing in decent, safe and sanitary condition. <br /> <br />2. Improve safety and livability of neighborhoods by focusing resources for public <br /> facilities and services. <br /> <br />3. Promote economic growth through employment services, job training, business <br /> development and expansion which result in jobs for Iow income persons. <br /> <br /> <br />
