Continuation of Railroad Grade Separation Study <br /> <br />Reports: <br /> <br />Community Development Director, 4/1/91 <br />Redwood City Grade Separation Study, Progress Report - <br />Phase I, Nolte and Associates, 4/8/91 <br /> <br />City Engineer Luck presented the staff report and introduced Sam Nash of <br />Nolte and Associates and Carl Springer of TJKM Traffic Engineering who <br />presented a review of the March 4th Study Session and March 12th Public <br />Session on grade separations and the updated report on Jefferson, Brewster <br />and Whipple grade crossings. <br /> <br />George McKibbon, 160 F Street, Redwood City recommended a grade separation <br />at Hopkins be reconsidered as it would ease traffic problems at Whipple, <br />utilize the wider Arguello Street, which would eliminate property <br />acquisition, and cost less than the other three sites. <br /> <br />Donald Frohlich, 491 Topaz, Redwood City, advised that elevating tracks <br />fifteen feet would create an eyesore and an unacceptable noise level <br />throughout the City; and suggested Council take the long term approach and <br />depress the railroad tracks rather than build an underpass for automobiles, <br />acknowledging the tremendous cost involved in this design. <br /> <br />Regular Meeting Minutes <br />Apri 1 8, 1991 <br />Page 5 <br /> <br />MINUTE BOOK NO.50 <br />Page No. 220 <br /> <br />T <br /> <br />"T""]""" <br />
