Consultant will use Redwood City's social media platform to advertise the public
outreach events and publicize the web-mapping tool. Consultant will provide branded
material monthly for postings by the City to keep a strong social media presence.
Unless otherwise noted , all outreach, social media, and webmap material will be in
English .
Deliverables: Draft and final website and monthly web updates. Draft and final
webmap (three rounds). Monthly social media material for City postings.
Optional Tasks:
• Text Survey Everyone does not have Internet access or time to complete the web-based
mapping tool, so Consultant will work with a vendor to create a bi-lingual, mobile text-based
survey that will enable input at up to three key milestones or events in the Plan development (to
be selected in collaboration with the City). The text-based survey platform will allow us to meet
stakeholders where they are, learn quick insights and easily display the data, and stay engaged
with participants throughout the project.
• Intercept Survey: Alternatively, Consultant will use bilingual staff to administer intercept surveys
at key community locations at up to three key milestones in the Plan development. A minimum of
two staff, for four hours at each milestone would be budgeted for this data collection.
Task B.4: Public Events
In addition to online engagement, Consultant will conduct the following public events
during the Plan preparation .
"Not Your Average Workshop" Community Events
Consultant will participate in non-traditional public outreach events to gather input and
promote the Plan . These include community event participation , or "pop up" events. As
part of this task Consultant will host a booth at up to three (3) community events. One
poster board will be created for use at all three events. These events could include
farmers' markets as well as neighborhood meetings and other events. These events
will occur during the early phase of the Plan as an opportunity to listen to the community
regarding existing issues and opportunities, and also to build our electronic mailing list/
direct stakeholders to the website, web map, and social media. The City will schedule
booth space as necessary.
Deliverables: Materials and attendance at up to three pop up events.
Focus Groups
Consultant will prepare for and lead up to five (5) stakeholder or focus group meetings
with key persons or groups. These may include major employers, other agencies (i .e. ,
Caltrans, SamTrans), residents along key corridors, church groups, school groups,
senior advocates, and/or disability group advocates. These groups will be targeted to
include those not well-represented at other events/ on-line forums and those directly
ATTY/AGR/2016.308/FEHR & PEERS CITYWIDE TRANSPORTATION PLAN
REV: 11-03-16 VR
