TASK G : DEVELOP PROJECTS & PROGRAMS
The purpose of this task is to develop a prioritized set of transportation improvements
that the City can use as a guide for designing and constructing projects that will deliver
the greatest degree of benefit to the City.
Task G.1 : Previously Identified Projects and Programs
Consultant will develop a database of transportation projects and programs that are
currently underway or have been previously identified . This database will be used to
document previous efforts and will serve as a foundation upon which to include new
projects and programs that emerge through the plan development process.
Deliverable: Database of previous projects and programs (Excel or Google doc)
Task G.2: New Projects and Programs
New projects and programs will be identified based on previous tasks and outreach
activities. This will include input from community members and other stakeholders as
well as projects identified through the technical modeling and deficiency analysis
process. Some new projects may be entirely new efforts, and others may be
modifications of previously identified projects.
Project categories will be developed in conjunction with the City, but may include:
• General Plan corridors
• Active transportation corridors
• Transportation technology and innovation, including opportunities in emerging
technologies (like autonomous vehicles) and share mobility providers (such as Uber/Lyft)
• Neighborhood safety and community building programs
• Intersection improvements to reduce delay for all modes
• Multimodal transportation hubs
• Transit enhancement projects, including opportunities to enhance ferry access to the
Port of Redwood City
• TDM planning
• Network gap closure or connectivity projects
Where identified projects are safety-related , Consultant will identify additional analysis
needed prior to design and implementation.
Active transportation corridor projects and related efforts could be combined into a
separate future document that will serve as the City's Active Transportation Plan .
Additionally, transit projects could be integrated with projects that emerge from the
Downtown Transit Center and Broadway Streetcar study into a combined future citywide
transit plan .
ATTY/AGR/2016.308/FEHR & PEERS CITYWIDE TRANSPORTATION PLAN
REV: 11-03-16 VR
