that the appropriation in question is for the entire complex and specific expendi- <br />tures could be decided at a later date. <br />In discussing the Fire Department site, Councilman Rosselli moved approval of the $49,000 <br />appropriation in the Budget, seconded by Councilman Granger and carried, Councilman <br />Henderson voting no. (MINUTE ORDER #66-131B) <br />The City Manager requested the Council to approve an additional $14,000 to be added <br />to the Hoover School Swim Pool appropriation in order that there should be enough <br />funds to award either alternate called for in the bids. <br />In discussing the Farm Hill Boulevard Extension, on advice of the City Attorney, the <br />total estimated cost in the amount of $504,764.00 will be shown in the appro- <br />priation budget to be offset by the revenue which other entities will contribute <br />in the amount of $429,570.00. The difference being Redwood City's contribution <br />to the project. <br />Councilman Bury left the meeting at 1:05 P. M. <br />Councilman Rosselli questioned the completion of the Alameda improvements, and the <br />City Manager explained the joint project. The Mayor asked the Staff to prepare <br />a statement of the amount of money from Collier -Unruh funds Redwood City is <br />receiving from the County (Memo 6/16/66) Councilman Henderson stated that the City <br />should not lose sight of the fact that Alameda -Woodside intersection would involve <br />the Woodside High School and a overpass should be considered. <br />In discussing the proposed appropriation for the construction of an additional rest- <br />room in Stulsaft Park, Councilman Henderson moved to delete the $10,000 budgeted <br />for this purpose, seconded by Councilman Keckley. Motion failed to carry on a <br />tie vote, Councilman Granger, Henderson, and Keckley voting yes, Councilman Peter- <br />sen, Rosselli, and Mayor Herkner voting no. <br />Councilman Granger brought up the question of the increased traffic which would result <br />from the Hoover School Swim Pool. The City Manager informed the Council that he <br />had just received telephone advice from the State that gas tax monies could be used <br />for pedestrian overpass construction up to 100% of the cost. He stated that he <br />would get a written opinion to this effect, and make a further report on the Middle- <br />field -Woodside Expressway overpass. <br />The requested stop sign at Broadway and Winslow was discussed. On motion of <br />Councilman Henderson, seconded by Councilman Keckley, and carried, the $15,000 <br />appropriation for this stop signal was deleted from the Budget. (MINUTE ORDER #132) <br />Councilman Rosselli left the meeting at 1:35 P. M. <br />The City Manager was asked to check out the request for the improvement of Steinberger <br />Street to determine if the $40,000 requested could be deleted from the present <br />Budget, at least until further Council discussion. (Memo 6/16/66) <br />Councilman Henderson moved to delete the $500 requested for Maddux Park playground <br />equipment, motion lost for lack of a second. <br />Councilman Henderson moved to delete $1,000 for Silver Hill Road, seconded by Councilman <br />Keckley, and carried on roll call vote, Councilmen Henderson, Keckley, and Mayor <br />
