21.7 <br />Councilman Keckley moved to adopt RESOLUTION NO. 5066 ESTABLISHING OFFICIAL PLAN <br />LINES FOR A STREET CONNECTING VALOTA ROAD AND SIERRA STREET, seconded by Councilman <br />Granger. City Attorney advised Abernathy site now in process of being cleaned up. <br />City Manager was also asked to check on trucks being stored on North side of Street <br />(Memo 6/21/66) Motion carried unanimously on roll call vote. <br />PUBLIC HEARING, Resolution of Intention of the Planning Commission to prezone property <br />known as Vista Drive Annexation, being Lots 1 through 9. Block 15; Lots 9 through <br />13, Block 16, Lots 1 through 9, Block 20, Highlands of Emerald Lake Subdivision ##1, <br />declared open and affidavits of publication and mailing ordered filed. Planning <br />Commission after public hearing recommended it be zoned R-1-7, all of lots subdivided <br />within the proposed annexation being over 7,000 sq, ft. There being no written <br />communications or oral protest, Councilman Rosselli moved to close the public hearing, <br />seconded by Councilman Petersen and carried. <br />Councilman Bury recommended that Minutes of Planning Commission indicate which <br />Commissioners present and voting when unanimous votes recorded. (Memo 6/21/66) <br />Councilman Bury moved to introduce Ordinance amending Section 60.1.7 to Ordinance No. <br />1130, the Redwood City Zoning Ordinance, prezoning property in the vicinity of the <br />proposed Vista Drive Annexation, seconded by Councilman Keckley and carried. <br />PUBLIC HEARING, Resolution of Intention of the Planning Commission to rezone from IS <br />to R-1, property known as Alameda Annexation No. 1, being a portion of Lot 1, Block <br />17, Oak Knoll Manor, in the vicinity of Alameda de Las Pulgas and Harding Streets, <br />delcared open and affidavits of publication and mailing ordered filed. Planning <br />Commission recommended this annexation be rezoned from IS to R-1, site abutting <br />area within the City being R-1. There being no communications or oral protest, <br />Councilman Rosselli moved to close the public hearing, seconded by Councilman Keckley <br />and carried. <br />Councilman Keckley moved to introduce Ordinance adding Section 70.2.17 to Ordinance <br />No. 1130, the Redwood City Zoning Ordinance, rezoning property in the vicinity of <br />Alameda Annexation No. 1, seconded by Councilman Petersen and carried. <br />Request of Walter Thompson, 475 Sapphire Street, for driveway variance to permit entrance <br />to a parking strip, presented for consideration. This matter had been continued from <br />Council meeting of June 6th in order that applicant could be present. Report pre- <br />viously sent to Council in which Staff had recommended denial. Slide shown of the <br />premises, indicating problem and proposed parking pad at front of residence. <br />Mrs. Thompson appeared to state reasons for requesting <br />parking pad because of a jointly owned driveway to jointly <br />owned double garage and lack of parking space in driveway. <br />She explained a contractor had been hired that stated he <br />was familiar with problem and proceeded to cut curb and <br />construct parking pad, and she had not realized or been <br />informed by him a permit was needed. <br />Councilman Henderson questioned legal status of common driveway and property rights. <br />City Attorney advised no standard rule, as it depended upon desires of owners to <br />split property or grant reciprocal easements, no real guiding lines involved if sub- <br />divided in this manner before present Subdivision Ordinances.
