Councilman Rosselli moved to introduce Ordinance appropriating the sum of <br />$10,000 from depreciation account of Marina Revenue Fund and appropriating <br />the sum of $6,934 from unappropriated balance of Sales Tax Capital Outlay <br />Fund for purpose of construction of Harbormaster Quarters; and, amending <br />Section 2.37 of the Code of the City of Redwood City relating to Marina <br />Construction Fund, seconded by Councilman Henderson. On question Councilman <br />Granger recommended official action be continued on this item until 8:00 p.m. <br />to avoid any confusion as to time of this monthly study meeting of 7:30 p.m. <br />Mayor Herkner ordered this matter held for additional five minutes to 8:00 p.m. <br />Mayor Herkner introduced students present from the Coro Foundation in attendance <br />_ as part of their student training program and who would be studying pro- <br />cesses of our local government with City Staff for next few weeks. <br />Mr. W. Donald Fletcher was introduced as being President of the Coro <br />Foundation. <br />Ordinance appropriating funds for purpose of construction of Harbor Master <br />Quarters re -introduced by Councilman Rosselli and seconded by Councilman <br />Henderson. On question, Councilman Keckley asked why cost of "pad" was <br />not included in original plans and specifications and in subsequent bid- <br />ding. City Manager advised at time of preparation of specs it was not <br />certain imported fill would be necessary, but that it would not be in- <br />cluded as a change order in the contractor's agreement. Motion carried. <br />Councilman Bury moved to adopt RESOLUTION NO. 5132 AWARDING CONTRACT FOR <br />— CONSTRUCTION OF HARBORMASTER RESIDENCE CONTINGENT UPON APPROPRIATION OF <br />FUNDS THEREFOR; AND REQUIRING THAT THE SUCCESSFUL BID AND BID BOND RE- <br />MAIN IN EFFECT FOR A PERIOD OF 50 DAYS AFTER SEPTEMBER 12, 1966, OR <br />UNTIL THE APPROPRIATION BECOMES EFFECTIVE; REJECTING ALL OTHER BIDS <br />RECEIVED; AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF THE CONTRACT FOR SAID WORK; AND <br />DIRECTING RETURN OF SECURITY DEPOSITS. On the question, Councilman <br />Granger asked whether bid has been approved, and recommended by Staff. <br />City Manager advised Staff recommends bid be approved and awarded. He <br />also advised no portion of State loan funds were being utilized for these <br />facilities. Motion seconded by Councilman Granger and carried unani- <br />mously on roll call vote. <br />Councilman Rosselli moved to introduce Ordinance appropriating $10,504 from <br />unbudgeted unappropriated balance of off-street parking fund to provide <br />for purchase of parking meter mechanisms; and, authorizing purchase of <br />said mechanisms without public bid, seconded by Councilman Bury. <br />Staff reported due to age, intensive use and damage caused by the inser- <br />tion of foreign objects, some of meter mechanisms were no longer repair- <br />able and do not give accurate time.
