(MINUTE ORDER
#,`66-201)
Councilman Rosselli asked, although item not on the Agenda, but of extreme importance
to the welfare of the community, for a report on the recent meeting attended by
Staff with the Bay Conservation Development Commission regarding Redwood Shores
and Marine World development. City Manager submitted transcript of BCDC Staff
Report which he stated had been dictated over the telephone to City stenographers
in order information contained therein could be transferred to Council sooner than
could be anticipated from the Commission. City Manager advised it was Staff
recommendation, in which Commission concurred, to continue hearing to October 6th
concerning this matter. City Manager discussed advantages of a field trip being
arranged for BCDC members and requested authorization from Council to proceed with
such plans, with invitation being issued by Mayor Herkner.
City Manager further advised dredging in this application was directly related to
Marine World and should not be construed to indicate in any manner that if per-
mission denied, Redwood Shores project would be stopped, as development plan could
be rearranged, but that it would directly result in the proposed Marine World pro -
Jett being ended. He further stressed why he felt field trip of extreme impor-
tance for Commission to see the situation for themselves from both land and air.
