Councilman Rosselli concurred in recommendation made by City Manager and moved <br />that Staff be authorized to prepare arrangements, seconded by Councilman Granger <br />and carried. (MINUTE ORDER #66-202) <br />Councilman Keckley strongly concurred with motion made and offered further suggestions <br />as to arrangments for field trip to make possible for BCDC to have the best possible <br />visual review of area involved. Councilman Granger expressed his opinions as to <br />the tremendous benefits Marine World would give to Redwood City and area and felt more <br />support could be shown by citizens, as has been done with college site, and to <br />indicate City's concern over delays which might prove detrimental to this tremendous <br />project. Councilman Bury concurred with statements made concerning need of support <br />and public interest, and also suggested that members of the State Fish and Game <br />Commission be invited to attend field trip. <br />Councilman Rosselli expressed his concern on misinformation constantly being given <br />publicity in view of Redwood City presently being given the greatest opportunity <br />ever presented for having in our community a project this tremendous. Councilman <br />Henderson indicated her support of project as she now understood it but would con- <br />tinue to review areas of concern to her. <br />Councilman Henderson requested report from Staff concerning Woodside Road widening, <br />since having read in newspaper article State priority had been changed for this <br />project. Mayor Herkner advised it was not felt City had gained anything in way <br />of priority in spite of efforts of Staff and through trips to Sacramento except for <br />project being included in State's budget for year after next. City Manager advised <br />he was still trying to get additional information and m uld submit a report to <br />Council. (Memo 9/20/66) <br />Letter of thanks from Lisle and Georgia Winters for Council'a <br />thoughtful action in their recent bereavement. <br />Howard Duncan, of Howard Duncan Yacht Sales, R dwood Marine, <br />protesting against use of property across marifia for purpose <br />of motorcycle "Scrambles" or "meets" which constitutes a <br />hazard to the health and welfare of their salesmen and is <br />damaging to their boats. <br />Mayor Herkner asked that City Manager investigate this complaint and take proper <br />action.
