J cJ <br />After discussion of the permitted uses in the area, and further identification <br />of the 25' strip in relation to abutting property, Councilman Bury moved to close <br />the public hearing, seconded by Councilman Petersen and carried. <br />Councilman Petersen moved to introduce Ordinance adding Section 60.3.14 to <br />Ordinance No. 1130, the Redwood City Zoning Ordinance, rezoning property in <br />the vicinity of the Block bounded by Arguello, Alden and Warren Streets, and <br />Brewster Avenue, seconded by Councilman Keckley and carried. <br />PUBLIC HEARING, Application of Standard Oil Company of California, to amend the <br />Zoning Map by rezoning property, being the rear portions of Parcels 5 and g, <br />Block 372, according to the Assessors records, in the vicinity of Main Street <br />and Veterans Boulevard, adjacent to the Standard Oil Station at 400 Main Street, <br />from CA to CP, declared open and affidavits of publication and posting ordered <br />filed. <br />Councilman Bury asked if the Staff recommendation would be changed if the <br />adjacent area were still considered for a City Hall site. City Manager outlined <br />the ownership problems of the Civic Center site referred to, and stated the <br />Standard oil Company development would not be inconsistent with such a use. <br />Councilman Petersen asked if we could expect to have a better looking service <br />station in the area than we have now if CP was granted and was assured by the <br />Planning Director the Planning Commission is cognizant of the Council's desire <br />for Architectural control of service stations. Councilman Petersen moved to <br />close the public hearing, seconded by Councilman Bury and carried. <br />Councilman Petersen moved to introduce Ordinance adding Section 60.3.13 to <br />Ordinance No. 1130, the Redwood City Zoning Ordinance, rezoning property in <br />the vicinity of Main Street and Veterans Boulevard, seconded by Councilman <br />Keckley and carried. <br />Motion by Councilman Granger that Staff contact Palm Springs and develop <br />information concerning their method of controlling service stations, and notify <br />Planning Commission, seconded by Councilman Rosselli and carried. (MINUTE ORDER <br />#66-203) <br />PUBLIC HEARING, Resolution of Intention of the Planning Commission to zone a portico <br />of Lot 6, Block 27, Oak Knoll Manor (approximately 17,000 square feet in size) <br />located at the Northeasterly corner of Oak Knoll Drive and Canyon Road, as CN, <br />(Arthur-Blevins Property), declared open and affidavits of publication and post- <br />ing ordered filed. <br />Council deleted this parcel from a prezoning to RH action recommended by the <br />Planning Commission and referred it back for recommendation to some type of <br />commercial zoning. -- <br />Communication from Robert Rossman, 11 Springdale Way, <br />opposing rezoning in both this property and property <br />owned by William Barnett.
