185 <br />PUBLICI-EARING, Resolution of Intention to abandon portion of East Fuller Street <br />declared open and affidavits of publication and posting ordered filed. Council <br />advised by Staff the agreement between City and County providing for the relocation <br />of utilities and other related matters has been signed, and that Bcwd of Supervi- <br />sors' authorizing resolution for same had been received. There being no written <br />communications or oral protest, Councilman Rosselli moved to close the public hearing, <br />seconded by Councilman Keckley and carried. <br />Councilman Granger moved to adopt RESOLUTION NO. 5142 ABANDONING PORTION OF FULLER <br />STREET IN VICINITY OF GOVERNMENT CENTER, IN ACCORDANCE WITH PART 3 OF DIVISION 9, <br />STREETS AND HIGHWAYS CODE OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA, seconded by Councilman <br />Keckley and carried unanimously on roll call vote. <br />PUBLIC HEARING, Resolution of Intention to annex Canyon Road Annexation declared open <br />and affidavits of publication and mailing ordered filed. Council was advised <br />by Staff area comprises approximately 5.52 acres on Canyon Road near its intersec- <br />tions with Oak Knoll Drive. There being no written or oral protests, Councilman <br />Petersen moved to close the public hearing, seconded by Councilman Rosselli. <br />On question, Councilman Bury questioned capacity of storm drainage facilities at <br />this point and if adequate for this annexation, or whether new problems would be <br />created. Director of Public Works advised problem did exist in this area but <br />annexation of these parcels would have no effect one way or the other. <br />Councilman Bury stated he was specifically referring to surface run-off during <br />rains in this area, and if it was expected to be resolved. Councilman Keckley <br />questioned present development as to density and was advised there were few houses <br />and area considered of low density at present. Council was reminded of prezoning <br />to RH, consistent with nature of other adjacent areas, and with annexation develop- <br />ment may occur which could help to get improvements such as street improvements, <br />storm drainage, etc., which would improve the run-off in the area. <br />Motion to close the public hearing carried. <br />Councilman Rosselli moved to adopt RESOLUTION NO. 5143 OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF REDWOOD CITY FINDING AND DETERMINING THAT PROTEST TO THE PROPOSED ANNEXATION TO <br />THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY OF CERTAIN UNINHABITED TERRITORY DESIGNATED AS "CANYON <br />ROAD ANNEXATION NO. 1" HAS NOT BEEN MADE BY OWNERS OF ONE-HALF OF THE VALUE OF <br />PRIVATE PROPERTY WITHIN SUCH TERRITORY AS SHOWN BY THE LAST EQUALIZED ASSESSMENT <br />ROLL, NOR BY THE OWNERS OF ONE-HALF OF THE VALUE OF PUBLICLY OWNED PROPERTY WITHIN <br />SAID TERRITORY AS DETERMINED BY SAID COUNCIL, seconded by Councilman Petersen. <br />On question, Councilman Bury suggested policy might be made to make subject of <br />improvements a study item for discussion when applications made for annexation. <br />Motion carried unanimously on roll call vote. <br />Councilman Petersen moved to introduce Ordinance of the City of Redwood City approving <br />the annexation to the City of Redwood City of certain uninhabited territory designated <br />"Canyon Road Annexation No. 1" and herein described, and herein annexing said territory <br />to said City of Redwood City, seconded by Councilman Keckley and carried. <br />
