ell 6 <br />Minutes of Regular Monthly Study Meeting <br />Redwood City Council <br />October 10, 1966 7:30 P. M. <br />Meeting called to order at 7:30 p.m. by Mayor Herkner. <br />Pledge of Allegiance led by Councilman Rosselli. <br />Invocation led by Reverend William Light, St. Peters Episcopal Church. <br />ON ROLL CALL the following were noted present: Councilmen RobertH. Bury, Floyd D. <br />Granger, Mary W. Henderson, Paul C. Keckley, Herbert G. Petersen, John S. Rosselli, <br />Mayor Sidney D. Herkner and City Clerk Helen C. Moore. Also noted present were <br />City Manager Howard C. Ullrich, City Attorney Richard Gardella, Assistant City <br />Manager Henry V. Burget, Police Chief William Faulstich, Director of Public Works <br />Louis Scherer, Planning Director Ken Schroeter, and Senior Stenographer Sandra <br />Penticuff. <br />Councilman Petersen moved to approve minutes of regular meeting of October 3, 1966, <br />and minutes of adjourned regular meeting of October 5, 1966, seconded by Councilman <br />Henderson and carried. <br />City Manager introduced 5 Municipal Specialists from Venezuela who are visiting Redwood <br />City under State Department Training Program. <br />REPORT ON SIDEWALK REPAIR CONTINUANCE GRANTED TO: Benjamin and Helen Picetti, Regal <br />Petroleum, E1 Camino and Brewster. <br />Council requested a report back on: <br />1 Completion of sidewalk repairs <br />2 Removal of signs from rear fence <br />3 Sale of items not related to service station operation. <br />City Manager stated signs have been removed from rear fence. Discussion of sale <br />of items not related with service stations. City Manager stated there is not use <br />permit involved. A use permit was not required under the previous zoning ordinance. <br />On the subject of completion of sidewalk repairs, Public Works Director stated the <br />people involved have been negotiating for the work but it has not been accomplished. <br />Councilman Henderson asked what Staff's recommendation is. City Manager stated that <br />he has had no request for an extension. Councilman Petersen questioned number of <br />days it would take to finish work. City Manager stated his recommendation would <br />be to grant no more than a 15 -day extension. <br />Councilman Petersen moved to grant extension of 15 days, seconded by Councilman <br />Rosselli. Councilman Henderson asked, if people involved have not requested an <br />extension, can Council legally take this action, and was assured by City Attorney <br />the action is a satisfactory one. City Manager stated people are making an effort <br />in good faith. <br />Councilman Rosselli suggested Staff write letter and notify property owners of <br />Council's action and hope work will be concluded in time allotted. Motion carried. <br />(MINUTE ORDER #66-212) <br />Mayor Herkner announced Item 2 on the Agenda had been removed. <br />City Manager announced that Mr. Robin Hatfield, member of the Personnel Board had <br />suffered a severe heart attack over the weekend and is in Sequoia Hospital. <br />Councilman Petersen, Chairman of the Transportation Committee, mentioned transportation <br />problem of Redwood City and Calif. He stated he received an invitation to a trans- <br />portation conference to be held in Los Angeles on October 26th; he stated that if he <br />is unable to attend, he would like some other member of Committee to go. Councilman <br />Petersen requested motion to enable himself or someone else on the Transportation <br />Committee to go to meeting. <br />
