Cities Conference, <br />Los Angeles) <br />Minutes of Regular Weekly Study Meeting <br />Redwood City Council <br />October 24, 1966 7:30 P.M. <br />Meeting called to order at 7:30 P. M. by Mayor Herkner. <br />Councilman Rosselli stated he had requested street name change requested by Boicelli <br />family be placed before Council again as no final determination had been made. <br />City Manager advised that due to the existing residences on this street, Staff <br />recommended against change of street name. Also petition signed by some 22 resi- <br />dents of the neighborhood protesting street name change had been received. He <br />further advised Staff had recommended that perhaps an undeveloped street in this <br />district might be named for the Boicelli's. Councilman Keckley requested compila- <br />tion of a priority list of outstanding citizens from which streets could be named <br />instead of family names being used for street names, based on their longevity in <br />the City. Mayor Herkner directed this matter be placed on Council Agenda of November <br />7th to be finally concluded by Council action. (Memo 10/25/66) <br />City Clerk reported on the many complaints received concerning sewer troubles in the <br />Cordilleras -Upland area, which comprises the major land area of the annexation which <br />was defeated in an election, by a very narrow margin, a year ago. The Annexation <br />Committee recommended to Council that the annexation be re -activated after deleting <br />the heavily populated area known as Kensington Square, which section has adequate <br />sewer and water, and, therefore, is not interested in annexation. City Attorney <br />advised of the present legislation which permits LAFC to waive the restrictions <br />against creating an island or corridor by annexation, and suggested, if decision mad <br />to authorize annexation procedures, Staff of LAFC be contacted to ascertain their <br />reaction. He further advised prezoning should annexation be initiated to give prior <br />format to those favoring or opposing proposed annexation. <br />
