Minutes of Regular Weekly Study Meeting <br />Redwood City Council <br />October 3, 1966 7:30 P.M. <br />Meeting called to order at 7:30 p.m. by Mayor Herkner. <br />Councilman Henderson -questioned Item 6, on acceptance of deed, and asked what type <br />shopping center will be at corner of Central Street and Woodside Road, Councilman <br />Rosselli answered that there are 3 stores at this location now and they will be <br />taken out, <br />Councilman Rosselli stated that he had received a carbon copy of letter from William J. <br />Graham, Attorney, on behalf of Mike Determan, regarding assessment #5-13 in the <br />Alley Improvements. <br />City Clerk explained that a letter addressed to the City Engineer from Mike Determan <br />regarding these improvements was read to Council May 2, 1966; the letter from Mr. <br />Graham was a follow-up to the letter of May 2. Director of Public Works stated he <br />does have copy of letter which they are referring to, and that no correspondence <br />had been exchanged between Engineering Dept, and Mr. Determan, <br />Councilman Bury questioned parking, limitations and speed limit in the alleys, <br />Deputy Police Chief explained speed and parking restrictions and the reasons <br />therefore. <br />On discussion of item concerning application of Leslie Properties to rezone property <br />on Redwood Peninsula, City Manager stated that he had received letter late in <br />afternoon requesting withdrawal of Parcels B & C from consideration at this time, <br />and only consider Parcel A. City Attorney stated that legally, the applicant has <br />right to withdraw according to Ordinance, as long as it is in writing, and informed <br />the Council concerning withdrawal of the tentative map. City Manager stated as of <br />late in afternoon, Staff has not been able to arrive at a solution with BCDC to the <br />problem regarding Belmont Slough dredging permit for Marine World Project. He said <br />BCDC Staff states they have no reason at this time to change their report from what <br />it was and come in with a more favorable report to the Commission. Another meet- <br />ing has been set for 5:00 Wednesday with Staff. City Manager requested Council <br />adjourn to meeting 8:00 p.m. Wednesday in order that he may have some Council <br />guidance before the BCDC meeting of October 6th. <br />The field trip with BCDC planned for October 5th was discussed, in the light of <br />the few acceptances to date. It was the consensus that since the invitation hag <br />been issued by the Council, the trip should take place as scheduled. <br />Minutes of Regular Meeting <br />Redwood City Council <br />October 3, 1966 8:00 P. M. <br />Pledge of Allegiance led by Councilman Granger, <br />Invocation led by Reverend Donald Lanka, First Congregational Church. <br />ON ROLL CALL the following were noted present: Councilman Robert H. Bury, Floyd D. <br />Granger, Mary W. Henderson, Paul C. Keckley, Herbert G. Petersen, John S. Rosselli, <br />Mayor Sidney D. Herkner and City Clerk Helen C. Moore. Also noted present were City <br />Manager Howard C. Ullrich, City Attorney Richard Gardella, Assistant City Manager <br />Henry V. Burget, Deputy Police Chief Ted Moudakas, Director of Public Works Louis <br />'Scherer, Planning Director Ken Schroeter, Auditor -Accountant Jack Ference, Associate <br />Building Inspector Charles Gyselbrecht and Senior Stenographer Sandra G. Penticuff. <br />
