809 <br />Councilman.Petersen left meeting at 8:55 p.m., so public hearing was continued until <br />later in the meeting. <br />PUBLIC HEARING, Resolution of Intention to abandon portions of PUE in lots 17 and 18, <br />Block 12, Farm Hill #2, declared open and affidavits of publication and mailing filed <br />Council adopted the Resolution of Intention on 9/12/66. <br />Approval of PGE & PTT were obtained and deposits received. <br />There being no written or oral protests, Councilman Rosselli moved to close public <br />hearing, seconded by Councilman Bury and carried. <br />Councilman Keckley moved to adopt RESOLUTION NO. 5161 VACATING AND ABANDONING POR- <br />TIONS OF PUBLIC UTILITY EASEMENTS, seconded by Councilman Bury and carried on roll <br />call vote, Councilman Petersen being noted absent. <br />Councilman Granger moved to adopt ORDINANCE N0. 1130.60 ADDING SECTION 60.2.23 to <br />ORDINANCE NO. 1130, THE REDWOOD CITY ZONING ORDINANCE, ZONING PROPERTY IN VICINITY <br />OF OAK KNOLL DRIVE AND CANYON ROAD, seconded by Councilman Rosselli and carried on <br />roll call vote, Councilman Petersen being noted absent. <br />REPORT OF BID OPENING: Primary Fill #2, Addition and Surcharge Fill. The following <br />bids were received on September 28, 1966. <br />Piombo Corporation $2413,705.00 <br />Fisk, Ferenze, McLean 2455817.00 <br />Bragato Paving 266,625.00 <br />Engineer's Estimate $298,352.50 <br />DMJM and Staff recommend award of bid to Piombo Corp. <br />Councilman Henderson questioned word "dredging" used in title of resolution and <br />City Attorney stated it was an error and should not have been used, and title was <br />read as corrected. <br />Councilman Rosselli moved to adopt RESOLUTION NO. 5162 AWARDING BID FOR CERTAIN FILL <br />AND RELATED CONSTRUCTION WORK ENTITLED "PRIMARY FILL #2 ADDITION AND SURCHARGE FILL, <br />REDWOOD CITY GENERAL IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT NO. 1-64, SEconded by Councilman Bury and <br />carried on roll call vote. <br />Councilman Henderson questioned area to be filled. <br />Jim Reiter, representing DMJM, appeared to explain that Marine <br />World agreements contemplate that the District as part of its <br />stipulation should do additional filling; both fill items are <br />included in this one bid so that we could get a better price, <br />which is another reason the surcharge fill was included. <br />Councilman Henderson questioned source of fill. City Manager stated the source would <br />be the Skyline Boulevard construction area. <br />Councilman Petersen returned to the meeting. <br />Paul Tessendorff, 45 Claremont, appeared to question abandon- <br />ment of old ship channel. <br />City Manager explained that ship channel had not been in contact with tidal waters <br />of the Bay since 1929. The intent is to use this abandoned ship channel as part of <br />the interior water way system in Redwood Shores. <br />Public Hearing on Application of Leslie Properties was reopened. <br />Paul Tessendorff appeared to request a definition of hearings. <br />
