X66 <br />Gordon Hanson of Challenge Development Company, stated <br />Peninsula General Contractors Association had indicated <br />if proposed ordinance thought necessary, it would pro- <br />perly fill the requirement. He stated however, he did <br />not feel it would accomplish all City desired and warned of <br />liability City would be undertaking. <br />City Attorney replied City always incurs liability in the enactment of any regula- <br />tory ordinance. Mayor Herkner stated this would be an Agenda item for December <br />5th meeting. (Memo 11/29/66) <br />City Manager asked that Council delete item from Agenda proposing to introduce <br />ordinance appropriating funds for City's contribution to Motor City Development <br />as agreements had not as yet been reviewed, but would be on Council Agenda of _ <br />December 5th. Bury, Floyd D. <br />Granger, Mary W. Henderson, Paul C. Keckley, Herbert G. Petersen, John S. <br />Rosselli, Mayor Sidney D. Herkner and City Clerk Helen C. Moore. Also noted — <br />present were City Manager Howard C. Ullrich, City Attorney Richard E. Gardella, <br />Assistant City Manager Henry V. Burget, Police Chief William Faulstich, Planning <br />Director Ken Schroeter, Director of Public Works J. Louis Scherer, Associate <br />Building Inspector Charles Gyselbrecht, and Deputy City Clerk Marian McCrindle. <br />Councilman Granger moved to approve minutes of Regular Meeting of November 21, <br />1966, as mailed, seconded by Councilman Bury.and carried. <br />PUBLIC HEARING, Petition for annexation of a portion of the Piombo Annexation to <br />General Improvement District No. 1-64 declared open and affidavits of publica- <br />tion, posting and mailing of notices were ordered filed. Staff report stated <br />Leslie Properties, Inc., petitioned Council for annexation of approximately <br />132.805 acres of land which they own in the area known as the Piombo Annexation. <br />City Clerk stated written consent of the property owners had been filed. City <br />Manager advised Council when annexation to the City of this area had been previously <br />discussed, a letter of protest had been received from Mr. Howard Brod, owner of a <br />parcel of property in the Piombo Annexation. He further stated Staff had <br />recommended to Council this portion of the territory be excluded from annexation I <br />to GID 1-64, and Mr. Brod had been so informed. <br />Councilman Bury questioned amount of assessed valuation which would be generated <br />to the District by this annexation and if it would be immediately added. City — <br />Manager advised it would be included in evaluation for next sale of bonds, but <br />that area now raw land only with no improvements on it. <br />
