Minutes of Regular Meeting <br />Redwood City Council <br />April 10, 1967 7:30 P. M. <br />Pledge of Allegiance led by Councilman Rosselli <br />Invocation led by Brigadier Harold Nadeau, Salvation Army. <br />ON ROLL CALL the following were noted present: Councilmen Robert H. Bury, Floyd D. <br />Granger, Mary W. Henderson, Paul C. Keckley, John S. Rosselli, Mayor Sidney D. <br />Herkner and City Clerk Helen C. Moore. Councilman Herbert G. Petersen noted <br />absent. Also noted present were City Manager Howard C. Ullrich, City Attorney <br />Richard E. Gardella, Assistant City Manager Henry V. Burget, Fire Chief J. L. <br />Lodi, Police Chief William Faulstich, Planning Director Ken Schroeter, Director <br />of Public Works J. Louis Scherer, and Deputy City Clerk Marian McCrindle. <br />Councilman Keckley moved to approve Minutes of Regular Meeting of April 3; 1967, as <br />amended by Councilman Henderson, to include remarks as follows: "Councilman Bury <br />asked when report on Farm Hill Land Slide, which had been requested by Councilman <br />Rosselli at meeting of March 27th, would be ready and was advised by the City <br />Manager report would be ready next week as requested", seconded by Councilman <br />Bury and carried. <br />Councilman Bury questioned whether any additional communication had been mceived <br />from people involved in the landslide area since report received from City Manager <br />on April 7th, City Manager reviewed present status, indicating City is prepared to <br />carry out what was authorized by Council resolution at such time as people involved <br />in the slide area are ready to do what they had originally indicated they would do. <br />He stated he strongly recommended against doing anything further in this situation <br />until such time as all participants involved carry out conditions imposed. City <br />Attorney advised another meeting concerning this matter was set for the next day. <br />Presentation of Certificates from University of Southern California were made to <br />Battalion Chief Alfred Hund and Captain George Powell for completion of radiation <br />and instrument courses, and a State Fire Training Certificate in leadership and <br />supervision to Fireman Peter O'Brien, by Mayor Herkner on behalf of the Council with <br />expression of appreciation for efforts of these Fire Department personnel to attain <br />this extra knowledge for the benefit of the City. <br />PUBLIC HEARING, Proposed Parks and Recreation Element of a General Plan, for the City of <br />Redwood City declared open and affidavit of publication ordered filed. <br />Staff report stated Council, on October 24, 1966, by Resolution No. 5176, referred <br />the Winan's Report and the Park and Recreation Element of the Redwood Shores <br />General Plan to the Planning Commission for preparation of a Recreation Element for <br />the City's General Plan, plan as approved by Planning Commission, after public hearings <br />submitted to Council on March 3, 1967, for review and recommended for adoption by the <br />City as the Parks and Recreation Element of the General Plan. <br />General Plan) Communications were read as follows: <br />(See Clerk's file - <br />0 40 -67 <br />
