indicated an additional 10' right of way along the frontages of the incorporated
area from Oak Knoll Drive up to the St. Matthias Church property for a future
widening of Canyon Road to an ultimate right of way width of 601. Report also
stated St. Matthias Church property had already dedicated 10' of width along
the Canyon Road frontage, and that proposed plan line would affect six property
owners along Canyon Road.
Joe Hanlon, 567 Canyon Road, questioned amount of
property proposed to be acquired from property owners
along this frontage; why from one side only, and
questioned plans proposed below this section of roadway.
City Manager advised that the other side of Canyon Road is outside of City's
jurisdiction and that proposed action for setting plan lines on City's side will
conform to set backs required by St. Matthias Church and meant to control future
construction development as to setback lines. Proposed Plan Lines are designed
to ultimate view of widening Canyon Road to 60 foot width, from present 40', 10'
setback lines from each side of the street.
Discussion held as to whether this matter should be referred back to Planning
Commission for purpose of contacting County to see if Plan Lines could be set for
side of street within their jurisdiction, or advantage of City's taking action
and notifying County of action desired to set complete Plan Lines for this sec-
tion. There being no communications or oral protest, Councilman Henderson moved
to close the public hearing, seconded by Councilman Keckley and carried.
Councilman Bury moved to adopt RESOLUTION N0, 5343 ESTABLISHING OFFICIAL PLAN
LINES FOR THE WIDENING OF CANYON ROAD BETWEEN OAK KNOLL DRIVE AND CORDILLERAS
ROAD, seconded by Councilman Keckley and carried on roll call vote, Councilman
Rosselli being noted absent.
Councilman Granger requested that this subject in general be referred back to
Planning Commission to see if County would now establish similar plan lines on
the opposite side of this street.
City Manager stated he felt same thing could be accomplished by Staff notifying
County of Council's action and suggesting that they take similar action to effect
complete plan lines on this street. (Memo 4/18/67)
City Manager requested that Council's proposed action for approved plans and specifi-
cations, and authorizing call for bids, for construction of signalization, channelir
zation and lighting, Veterans Boulevard 150' East of Main Street, etc., be
deleted from this Agenda because Staff had not been able to completely finalize
same. Mayor Herkner announced this item would be on Council's Agenda for next
week. (April 24th) (Memo 4/18/67)
PUBLIC HEARING, Appeal of John F.
