52 <br />Mayor Herkner also reported on the refuse that had been taken out to the Marsh <br />Road dumping area for a total cost of $99.50. Councilman Keckley moved that <br />the City pay the charges for dumping of refuse, seconded by Councilman Henderson. <br />City Manager concurred this was a valid expense which the City could be expected <br />to pay as being a part of the fire prevention program. Motion carried. <br />(MINUTE ORDER #67-83) <br />Councilman Bury questioned agenda item scheduled by Park & Recreation Commission <br />concerning renaming of Chestnut Park and asked if Councilman Granger intended to <br />appear to submit suggestions. Councilman Granger stated he had appeared at a <br />previous Commission meeting and a recommendation would be submitted for Council's <br />consideration. <br />COMMUNICATIONS: <br />Invitation from Native Daughters of the Golden West, <br />Bonita Parlor No. 10, to their 80th Anniversary obser- <br />vance honoring their Grand President, Annette Caiocca, <br />Sunday afternoon, May 21, 1967, Veterans Memorial <br />Building (copies submitted to Council previously) <br />Recommendation by Planning Commission for Council to <br />consider formation of an assessment district for the <br />unimproved portions of Bel Air Way within the City of <br />Redwood City, together with City Manager's attached <br />report stating Staff's concurrence with the recommen- <br />dation. (copies submitted to Council previously) <br />Mayor Herkner requested the Bel Air Improvement District be p1ced on the Agenda <br />for next meeting. (Memo 5/2/67) <br />Communication from Belmont School District concerning their objections to some <br />features of Leslie Properties plans for development of the Redwood Peninsula. <br />(copies submitted to Council previously) <br />City Manager advised of the discussions that had been held with this School District. <br />Mayor Herkner asked that City Manager answer this communication (Memo 5/2/67) <br />Memorandum from Auditor -Accountant regarding State Compensation Insurance <br />Fund divident of $39,764.34 which was noted to be some $18,000 more than had <br />been anticipated. <br />City Manager asked that he be notified of reservations to be made by Council <br />members for dinner to be held at Sheraton Thunderbolt Inn on Friday evening, <br />May 5th, honoring Law Day. Councilman Rosselli moved that attendance of Council <br />members be approved, seconded by Councilman Henderson and carried. <br />(MINUTE ORDER #67-84) <br />Councilman Henderson felt Council should take note and make suitable acknowledgment <br />of the honor bestowed on City Clerk -Treasurer, Helen C. Moore, for having been <br />elected Treasurer of the Municipal Treasurers' Association of the United States, <br />and upon her also having carried her term as President of the California Municipal <br />Treasurers' Association to a successful conclusion. Councilman Henderson moved <br />that Council formally acknowledge their appreciation of City Clerk's performance <br />of these extra honorary duties and extend their congratulations, seconded by — <br />Councilman Keckley and carried. (MINUTE ORDER #67-85) <br />Councilman Keckley moved that Council adjourn commemorating the memory of an out- <br />standing community citizen best known as originator of City's slogan "Climate <br />MAY 1 .67 <br />
