go amiss, and in the meantime asked that check be held by City Treasurer in
the Special Deposits Fund. (Memo 5/23/67)
Mr. Smallcomb questioned curb cut which had been proposed
previously for loading facility at former Farmer's Market
and which was evidently no longer needed since premises had been
vacated by them, and to be occupied by a restaurant.
7
City Manager stated this curb cut had been included in the original plans, but
when building was vacated by the market, State had been notified to delete this
item, and since that time a request had been made by the new occupant for the
building that a loading curb cut would be needed by them, so this point was
still being discussed with the State.
Councilman Henderson questioned when construction of this project would start and
was advised by the City Manager it was still hoped to construct during the summer
season if State approved plans in time. Director of Public Works stated a recent
contact with the State had indicated it would be another two weeks before plans
would be completed and back to the City with some modification being indicated.
Construction period estimated at 30 days when actually commenced. Mayor Herkner
questioned costs of proposed signalization and opening of median barrier, and
was advised by City Manager that costs were estimated at $30,000.
Auditor -Accountant reported funds had been designated for this construction in
1967-68 budget under Sales Tax Capital Outlay Funds, but can be changed to Gas
Tax Funds if approved by the State. Mayor Herkner, on behalf of Council, thanked
Mr. Smallcomb forhis cooperation in this matter.
REPORT OF BID OPENING, 1 automobile, Police Department.
