He reported that in the real estate category the $15.00 per salesman or
agent was recommended for reduction to $10.00 per employee to bring this category in
line with the professional rates and to simplify the administration. Motion to adopt the ordinance carried on roll
call vote, Councilman Granger voting no.
Councilman Rosselli moved to introduce Ordinance amending Sections 32.121, 32.122,
32.123, 32.149 and 32.171 of Article V of Chapter 32 of the Code of the City of
Redwood City relating to the imposition of local taxes.
The City Attorney explained that the changes in the amendment included rate change
in the real estate category and some simplification of procedures relating to
applications.
William Royer and Edward Carlisle, Realtors, appeared to ask
for further consideration of the real estate rates quoting the
rates which they pay in San Carlos and Belmont and protested adop-
tion of the proposed business license tax ordinance.
After further discussion, motion carried on roll call vote, Councilman Granger
voting no.
The Mayor announced that budget study would commence with the appearance of Dave Schutz
representing the Centennial Committee. The City Manager
stated that we have a separate agreement with the Centennial Committee and that fund
would be paid directly to them.
Councilman Keckley moved that the contribution to the Centennial be increased to
$8,500, seconded by Councilman Granger.
031'67
