(Memo 6/16/67)
Councilman Petersen moved to delete the request for $2000 to complete the Marina
landscaping. Motion lost due to lack of a second.
The appropriation of $65,000 recommended to increase the amount available for a
restaurant building at the Marina to a total of $75,000 was thoroughly discussed,
Dixon Arnett, of Park and recreation Commission, offered suggestions for finan-
cing, inaddition to the proposals put forth by the City Manager. The consensus of
the Council was that all avenues should be examined in an attempt to obtain this
facility in keeping with our agreement with the State. The remainder of the
appropriations were approved without change.
Councilman Henderson stated she wished to include the purchase of the Hudson St.
property in the Capital Improvement Budget, and for that purpose moved to reduce
the appropriation for the Municipal Service Center by $40,000, to reduce the appro-
priation for design and acquisition by $30,000, to take $20,000 from the contin-
gent reserve of the Sales Tax Fund, for acquisition of the property in question
at a cost of $90,000, and that the City should seek contributions from others to
reduce the City's cost for this property. Motion lost for lack of second.
Councilman Petersen moved to accept the Capital Improvement Budget',with the changes
and deletions made at this meeting, seconded by Councilman Rosselli and carried.
(MINUTE ORDER #67-131)
A recap of the adjustments made in the Budget at each of the Study meetings was
reviewed as well as certain revisions in the projected revenues. City Manager
stated that these changes would permit a Tax Rate approximately the same as the
existing rate of 1966-67.
Councilman Rosselli moved to accept the adjustments in the Revenues, seconded by
Councilman Henderson and carried. (MINUTE ORDER #67-132)
The City Manager stated that this would complete the Budget studies; that the Bud-
get would now be finalized, based on the Council's decisions, and offered for
acceptance at the meeting of June 19th, after the public hearing was concluded.
"p114 V
