That this Council does hereby express its profound sympathy to <br />the family of J. Arthur Younger on the passing of Congressman <br />Younger into the care of our Lord and does take this opportunity <br />to express its sincere appreciation for the many services rendered <br />to this City by Congressman Younger; <br />AND, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: <br />That this Council does hereby order that this record to the memory <br />of Congressman Younger be entered into the minutes of this session <br />by the Clerk of this Council." <br />Motion seconded by Councilman Henderson and carried on roll call vote, Councilman <br />Keckley being noted absent. M. <br />Pledge of Allegiance led by Councilman Henderson. <br />Invocation led by Reverend Ronald Barton, First Congregational Church. <br />ON ROLL CALL the following were noted present: Councilmen Robert H. Bury, Floyd <br />D. Granger, Mary W. Henderson, Paul C. Keckley, Herbert G. Petersen, John <br />S. Rosselli, Mayor Sidney D. Herkner and City Clerk Helen C. Moore. Also <br />noted present were City Manager Howard C. Ullrich, City Attorney Richard E. <br />Gardella, Assistant City Manager Henry V. Burget, Police Chief William <br />Faulstich, Fire Chief J. L. Lodi,;Planning Director Ken Schroeter, Director <br />of Public Works J. Louis Scherer, Auditor Accountant Jack Ference, Chief <br />Building Official Charles Gyselbrecht, and Deputy City Clerk Marian McCrindle. <br />Councilman Granger moved to approve Minutes of Regular Meeting of June 26, 1967, <br />as mailed, seconded by Councilman Bury and carried. <br />Certificate of Distinguished Service was presented by Mayor Herkner, on behalf of <br />Council, to retiring member of the Library Board of Trustees, Mrs. Eve <br />Currie, with expression of deep appreciation for her valuable services to the <br />Redwood City Library by her membership on this Board. <br />Loyalty Oaths administered by City Clerk and Certificates of Appointment pre- <br />sented by Mayor Herkner to Mrs. Ardeen Merry, newly appointed and Lyle Edson, <br />reappointed, to the Library Board of Trustees. <br />PUBLIC HEARING, Application of RINKER DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION to amend the Zoning <br />Map to rezone property fronting on the Southerly side of Broadway between <br />Woodside Road and the spur tracks, being the Northeasterly 122 -feet -in -width <br />by 150 -feet -in-depth portion of Lot 1, Block 4, Redwood Industrial Tract <br />No. 1, from "IP" to "IR -A" District, declared open and affidavits of publica- <br />tion and mailing ordered filed. <br />Report of Planning Commission was read stating a public hearing had been <br />held at which no protests had been received, and that Commission had recom- <br />mended Zoning Map be amended to rezone the property as requested by applicant, <br />together with a request that a. full additional statement be submitted as a <br />matter of record, that the "Planning Commission would turn down any Use Permit <br />A xU 'd7 <br />
