Mr. Beard, property owner on Chatham Ct., appeared to question further details on location of proposed mining operation in relation to his property. Richard Weiskal expressed his disappointment of recommen- dation for not proceeding with the mining operations, stating findings submitted in his report were intentionally conser- vative as to ore deposits so revenues would prove in excess of estimates. Andrew Bacigalupi, 3766 Farm Hill Blvd., appeared to state his concern for the children of the area losing their play- ground in Stulsaft Park, if the City goes into mining opera- tion of this area. Motion to accept report of City Manager as stated, carried on roll call vote, Councilman Granger voting no, Councilman Rosselli being noted absent. (MINUTE ORDER #67-160) Councilman Henderson moved to adopt ORDINANCE NO. 1320 AMENDING SECTIONS 32.146, 32.147, AND 32.149 OF ARTICLE V OF CHAPTER 32 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, RELATING TO THE IMPOSITION OF LOCAL TAXES, seconded by Councilman Keckley. Councilman Bury, Chairman of the Business License Committee explained this was recommendation of the Committee concerning placing utilities in industrial - manufacturing category instead of retail, and redefines real estate license fees, which were approved by the Council at its last meeting. Motion carried on roll call vote, Councilman Rosselli being noted absent. Councilman Keckley moved to adopt ORDINANCE NO. 1321 AMENDING SECTIONS 14, 17, 26, 27 AND 30 OF, AND ADDING SECTION 20.5 TO ORDINANCE NO. 1286; AND, AMENDING SECTION 23.2 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, RELATING TO SALARIES PAYABLE TO SPECIFIED EMPLOYEE POSITIONS AND THE APPLICABILITY OF THE PERSONNEL REGULATIONS TO SPECIFIED PERSONNEL, (refers to specs. approved for new positions of Supervising Storekeeper and Accountant -Programmer), seconded by Councilman Henderson and carried on roll call vote, Councilman Rosselli being noted absent. Councilman Keckley moved to adopt RESOLUTION NO. 544o ESTABLISHING AND DECLARING DESIGNATED ENTRANCES TO DESIGNATED INTERSECTIONS TO BE STOP ENTRANCES, AND, ELIMINA- TING CERTAIN HERETOFORE ESTABLISHED STOP ENTRANCES, seconded by Councilman Bury. Staff report stated installation is recommended by Traffic Committee. The exten- sion of Cypress St. has increased traffic on Cypress St. over Park St., but not over Oakwood Blvd. East. Stop signs will be installed on Park St. at Cypress St. and removed on Cypress St. at Park St. ten days later after traffic is adjusted to the change. The stop sign on Cypress St. at Oakwood Blvd. East is to con- trol traffic on the minor street. Center lines will be painted leading into the Carlos and Cypress Street, and the Cypress St. and Oakwood Blvd. intersections. Motion carried on roll call vote, Councilman Rosselli being noted absent. ACCOUNTS PAYABLE, Nos. 62212 to 62480 inclusive, totaling $389,629.95 were approved on motion of Councilman Henderson, seconded by Councilman Bury and carried. COMMUNICATIONS: "Thank -you Gram" from Jenny L. Ford. 182 Rutherford Ave., thanking Council for recommending a solution to transporta- tion problems regarding City buses. Notification from County to all City Councils of meeting scheduled of the County Charter Study Committee concerning the matter of supervisorial elections and redistricting; Red- wood City, 4th district, being scheduled for Thursday, - Sept. 21st.
