Mr. Beard, property owner on Chatham Ct., appeared to <br />question further details on location of proposed mining <br />operation in relation to his property. <br />Richard Weiskal expressed his disappointment of recommen- <br />dation for not proceeding with the mining operations, stating <br />findings submitted in his report were intentionally conser- <br />vative as to ore deposits so revenues would prove in excess <br />of estimates. <br />Andrew Bacigalupi, 3766 Farm Hill Blvd., appeared to state <br />his concern for the children of the area losing their play- <br />ground in Stulsaft Park, if the City goes into mining opera- <br />tion of this area. <br />Motion to accept report of City Manager as stated, carried on roll call vote, <br />Councilman Granger voting no, Councilman Rosselli being noted absent. <br />(MINUTE ORDER #67-160) <br />Councilman Henderson moved to adopt ORDINANCE NO. 1320 AMENDING SECTIONS 32.146, <br />32.147, AND 32.149 OF ARTICLE V OF CHAPTER 32 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD <br />CITY, RELATING TO THE IMPOSITION OF LOCAL TAXES, seconded by Councilman Keckley. <br />Councilman Bury, Chairman of the Business License Committee explained this was <br />recommendation of the Committee concerning placing utilities in industrial - <br />manufacturing category instead of retail, and redefines real estate license fees, <br />which were approved by the Council at its last meeting. <br />Motion carried on roll call vote, Councilman Rosselli being noted absent. <br />Councilman Keckley moved to adopt ORDINANCE NO. 1321 AMENDING SECTIONS 14, 17, 26, 27 <br />AND 30 OF, AND ADDING SECTION 20.5 TO ORDINANCE NO. 1286; AND, AMENDING SECTION <br />23.2 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, RELATING TO SALARIES PAYABLE TO <br />SPECIFIED EMPLOYEE POSITIONS AND THE APPLICABILITY OF THE PERSONNEL REGULATIONS TO <br />SPECIFIED PERSONNEL, (refers to specs. approved for new positions of Supervising <br />Storekeeper and Accountant -Programmer), seconded by Councilman Henderson and <br />carried on roll call vote, Councilman Rosselli being noted absent. <br />Councilman Keckley moved to adopt RESOLUTION NO. 544o ESTABLISHING AND DECLARING <br />DESIGNATED ENTRANCES TO DESIGNATED INTERSECTIONS TO BE STOP ENTRANCES, AND, ELIMINA- <br />TING CERTAIN HERETOFORE ESTABLISHED STOP ENTRANCES, seconded by Councilman Bury. <br />Staff report stated installation is recommended by Traffic Committee. The exten- <br />sion of Cypress St. has increased traffic on Cypress St. over Park St., but not <br />over Oakwood Blvd. East. Stop signs will be installed on Park St. at Cypress St. <br />and removed on Cypress St. at Park St. ten days later after traffic is adjusted <br />to the change. The stop sign on Cypress St. at Oakwood Blvd. East is to con- <br />trol traffic on the minor street. Center lines will be painted leading into the <br />Carlos and Cypress Street, and the Cypress St. and Oakwood Blvd. intersections. <br />Motion carried on roll call vote, Councilman Rosselli being noted absent. <br />ACCOUNTS PAYABLE, Nos. 62212 to 62480 inclusive, totaling $389,629.95 were approved <br />on motion of Councilman Henderson, seconded by Councilman Bury and carried. <br />COMMUNICATIONS: <br />"Thank -you Gram" from Jenny L. Ford. 182 Rutherford Ave., <br />thanking Council for recommending a solution to transporta- <br />tion problems regarding City buses. <br />Notification from County to all City Councils of meeting <br />scheduled of the County Charter Study Committee concerning <br />the matter of supervisorial elections and redistricting; Red- <br />wood City, 4th district, being scheduled for Thursday, <br />- Sept. 21st. <br />Discussion was held on City having a Council Charter Committee <br />for representation on this matter and for reviewing City's Char- <br />ter for possible amendments next election. <br />r^• <br />16 <br />A 24 V <br />
