437 <br />of the acquisition of the Thorn property immediately westerly of the Baird property <br />on which the new Multi -Purpose Building has been constructed. <br />Agreement proposed provided for appraisal -negotiator services by Mr. C. Warren <br />Fox and Associates. Motion carried. (MINUTE ORDER #67-14) <br />Councilman Granger moved to introduce Ordinance appropriating $2,393 from the unappro- <br />priated balance of the General Fund to the Redwood City Police Youth Club to be <br />used for youth activities of a general benefit to the children of the City of <br />Redwood City, seconded by Councilman Keckley and carried. Staff report stated <br />this action necessary in order to make the funds turned over to the City by the <br />49ers as a result of their annual scrimmage available to the Youth Club, and <br />new agreement also necessary to cover the expenditure. Motion carried. <br />Councilman Bury moved to adopt RESOLUTION NO. 5260 APPROVING AGREEMENT WITH <br />REDWOOD CITY POLICE YOUTH CLUB AND AUTHORIZING EXECUTION THEREOF, seconded by <br />Councilman Henderson and carried on roll call vote. <br />REPORT OF BID OPENING, 1 automobile, Water Division, Department of Public Works. <br />The following bids were received: <br />E -Z Davies <br />Towne <br />Ferris Miles <br />$2,299.33* w/exceptions <br />2,363.92 no exceptions <br />2,417.71 no exceptions <br />* Offers 14" wheels rather than specified 15" wheels) <br />Staff recommended that the bids of E -Z Davies Chevrolet and Ferris Miles Dodge <br />Sales be rejected and that an award be made to Towne Ford Sales in the amount <br />of $2,363.92, since the model bid by E -Z Davies, the low bidder, did not meet <br />specifications. <br />Councilman Petersen moved to adopt RESOLUTION NO, 5261 AWARDING CONTRACT FOR <br />FURNISHING OF ONE FOUR DOOR SEDAN AUTOMOBILE, seconded by Councilman Rosselli <br />and carried on roll call vote. <br />Report and recommendation of City Manager regarding petition submitted by residents <br />adjacent to Purity Store, Roosevelt Shopping Center to abate noise created as <br />a result of night deliveries and early morning collection of refuse at the Purity <br />Store discussed. City Manager advised that although an ordinance had been pre- <br />pared by City Attorney as he had suggested to correct hours of pick-up of refuse, <br />he now felt additional amendment should be included and would submit an ordinance <br />at the next meeting. (Memo 1/24/67) <br />City Attorney advised that the Scavenger Company now intended to change their <br />pick-up time to 8:00 a.m, on Saturdays. <br />Mr. Franco, of San Mateo County Scavenger Company, assured <br />Council suitable arrangements would be made for thier pick-up <br />at this site. <br />Councilman Granger moved to adopt ORDINANCE N0, 1288 REPEALING ARTICLE VI, OF, AND <br />ADDING ARTICLE VIII TO, CHAPTER 2 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY RELATING <br />TO THE ORGANIZATION OF BOARDS AND COMMISSIONS AND THE VETERANS MEMORIAL COMMISSION <br />seconded by Councilman Rosselli and carried on roll call vote. <br />
