Mayor Herkner asked
that Council action on this matter be deferred to the legislative meeting.
Councilman Bury questioned ordinance proposed changing time schedule of garbage collec-
tions, and if other changes were proposed for later consideration as to time schedule
on deliveries in CN Districts. City Attorney advised two areas of concern had been
previously discussed as to deliveries in CN districts and as to garbage pick up which
is presently regulated by ordinance. Staff now recommends Council consider only
time schedule for pick up of garbage at this time.
City Manager advised of the difficulty encountered in attempting to regulate hours
of delivery and further difficulties which would be met on enforcing such an
ordinance which would prohibit deliveries of various materials during specific hours.
He advised the particular situation which had caused this complaint concerning the
Roosevelt Shopping Center was the only place where the CN district was entirely
surrounded by residential area. He further advised of the meetings which had been
held and that it was still Staff's opinion that this proposed ordinance should be
held until all facts of the problem had been further studied in order not to cause
undue hardships in other commercial areas by enactment of such legislation. Mayor
Herkner announced this item would be deleted from the Agenda as requested, if there
were no objections. (Memo 2/7/67)
