Thompson, secretary of Park & Recretary of Park <br />and Recreation Commission, furtherexplained how this matter <br />had come to the attention of the Commission and more of the <br />details which were presented in their request for use of <br />the playing field. <br />Council members expressed dissatisfaction with the manner in which this matter <br />was handled, but felt responsibility rested on the Soccer Club for their lack of <br />a proper presentation and insufficient prior information. Question of insurance <br />was raised and possibility of postponing scheduled starting date. Mayor Herkner <br />asked this item be placed on the Council's Agenda for next week. (Feb. 13th) <br />(Memo 2/7/67) <br />Councilman Granger suggested consideration be given to changing the name of Chestnut <br />Park to that of some well-known local citizen; in view of the improvements to be <br />made, and which would be timely at this time in view of the City's Centennial Year <br />Councilman Granger moved to refer his suggestion to the Park and Recreation <br />Commission for their consideration, secondedby Councilman Petersen and carried. <br />(MINUTE ORDER #67-21) <br />Councilman Bury suggested Councilman Granger present his suggestion to Park & <br />Recreation Commission personally. <br />Councilman Petersen moved to adjourn the meeting, seconded by Councilman Rosselli and <br />carried. M. <br />Meeting called to order at 7:30 p.m. by Mayor Herkner. <br />Board of Review: City Manager reported review had been made by Staff of Dr. Chope's <br />request for amendment to the City Code to allow "designated representatives" to <br />act on Board of Review in case members established by Ordinance, Director of MI <br />Public Health and Welfare of San Mateo County, the Superintendent of Health of San <br />Mateo County, and a member of the City Council, were not able to attend a meeting, <br />thereby causing undue delay. He advised Council he recommended against proposed <br />amendment because actions required by this Board were of such consequences with <br />the power to put food establishments out of business if violations persist that <br />this responsibility should remain with the department heads concerned and not be <br />delegated to designated representatives. City Manager stated, if Council agreed <br />with his recommendation, Dr. Chope would be so advised by letter. <br />Councilman Rosselli questioned reasons for this request being made by the County. <br />City Manager stated he knew of no specific problem which brought this subject to <br />light. Councilman Bury requested Staff reconsider this request, as it would make <br />more people available to function in a limited time. Councilman Rosselli favored <br />no change in the present composition of the Board, as no indication given of any <br />problems having arisen under this arrangement. <br />Councilman Granger, member of Board as Council's representatives, advised he had <br />been called for a meeting only once this year, but meeting having been cancelled as <br />case had been settled before final action needed.
