Councilman Rosselli moved to approve request of the California Clippers as recom-
mended by the City Manager and direct preparation of the necessary agreement,
seconded by Councilman Bury and carried. (MINUTE ORDER #68-6)
Councilman Rosselli moved to introduce Ordinance appropriating sum of $3,600 from un- —
appropriated balance of sales tax capital expenditure fund to provide for purchase
of furniture, fixtures and equipment for the Department of Public Works, Streets
and Storm Drains; and, appropriating sum of $2,400 from unappropriated balance of
equipment replacement fund to provide for purchase of park department vehicle,
seconded by Councilman Henderson.
Staff report stated sum of $3,600 was necessary to provide the funding for the
Street Sweeper and Patch Truck with Dump Body and Bitumal Sprayer, and sum of
$2,400 being requested was needed to replace a half -ton pickup truck for the Park
Department. City Manager advised truck for Park Department had not been antici-
pated for replacement this year but inasmuch as City Mechanic had submitted a
report certifying the presenttruck was not safe to operate on the streets, funds
were being requested for its immediate replacement. Motion carried.
Councilman Rosselli moved to adopt ORDINANCE NO. 1343 BEING AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY
OF REDWOOD CITY APPROVING THE ANNEXATION TO THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY OF CERTAIN
UNINHABITED TERRITORY DESIGNATED "CANYON ROAD ANNEXATION N0. 2" AND HEREIN
DESCRIBED, AND HEREIN ANNEXING SAID TERRITORY TO SAID CITY OF REDWOOD CITY,
seconded by Councilman Petersen and carried on roll call vote.
Councilman Keckley moved to adopt RESOLUTION NO. 5583 APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING EXECUTION
OF AGREEMENT WITH R. M. TOWILL CORPORATION FOR AERIAL PHOTOGRAPHY AND MAP PREPARA-
TION, seconded by Councilman Bury.
Location of work to be covered -vicinity of Edgewood Road and the Alameda; vicinity
of Canada Road and Edgewood Road. City Manager advised contact had been made
previously with the R. M. Towill Corp., presently engaged in doing aerial mapping
for the Town of Woodside and that negotiations resulted in obtaining the aerial
maps at a price of $3,065, and excellent price for the area to be covered. His
report further advised aerial photos and planometric maps are to be on a 200'
to the inch scale and the "topo" maps to be on 10 foot contours which should be of
great value to the Planning Director in his studies of City's sphere of influence"
and to the Public Works Department in their studies of utility planning. He also
advised because maps are on same scale as that being requested by Town of Woodside,
exchange of maps would be possible to include adjacent territory.
It was also noted $3,000 was appropriated in the current budget of Department of
Public Works and Planning Department for this work, and that a resolution will be
requested for a transfer of funds to cover the $65.00 additional funds needed.
(Memo 1/9/68)
Motion carried on roll call vote, Councilman Granger voting no.
Request of City Manager for permission to attend California State Highway Commission
meeting in Ventura, California, on January 17th in order to make a presentation
concerning access to Marine World from the Ralston Avenue interchange, approved
3g 8 .08
