Councilman Petersen asked that a discussion on the Hoover Swim Pool rates and
administrative costs be held at the next Council Meeting. (Memo 3/12/68)
Councilman Petersen also requested that he be permitted to attend a meeting in
Sacramento on Friday, March 15th, being called by the Transportation and Free-
way Committee of the League of California Cities of which he is a member.
He advised his attendance was uncertain at this time, but that he would
appreciate receiving this permission should he be able to attend. Council-
man Bury moved to authorize Councilman Petersen's attendance at the meeting,
seconded by Councilman Henderson and carried. (MINUTE ORDER #68-71)
Councilman Granger moved that City authorize no further payment of funds to ABAG,'
until such time as their financial status is clarified, seconded by Council-
man Petersen. After discussion as to reasons for this being recommended
and differing opinions expressed by Council members regarding intent of this
order, motion ruled lost on roll call vote because of a tie, Councilmen
Granger, Petersen, and Rosselli voting yes, Councilmen Bury, Henderson, and
Mayor Herkner voting no, Councilman Keckley being noted absent.
Councilman Rosselli questioned whether an Executive Session might be in order
since receiving City Manager's report on the status of the acquistion pro-
ceedings of the Friendly Acres Water System, as he felt it imperative this
matter be resolved as soon as possible. City Manager advised there would
be nothing to be gained from such a meeting at this point as no further in-
formation was available, but willing to review matter further if Council
wished any additional briefing should, in best interests of City in view
of litigation in this matter, be in Executive Session. No further action
taken.
Councilman Granger moved that Council adjourn by adoption of RESOLUTION NO.
5635 COMMEMORATING THE MEMORY OF PAUL A. McCARTHY, and read in full the
sentiments expressed as to his outstanding contributions to the City
development in previous years as a Councilman, former Mayor, and City
Attorney, seconded by Councilman Rosselli and carried on roll call vote,
Councilman Keekley being noted absent.
Meeting adjourned at 11:20 p.m.
HELEN C.
