Continued PUBLIC HEARING, Application of LESLIE PROPERTIES, INC., to amend the
Zoning Map to rezone property from "R-1" District (Single Family Residential)
to "R -1-P" District (Single Family Residential, Planned Development Combining)
located in Redwood Peninsula being all of the Tentative Map area of Redwood
Shores Unit #1, except Lots 13 and 14 and Lot B, Block D (APN portions of 95-010-
(17.23) declared open and affidavits of publication and mailing ordered filed.
It was noted this public hearing had been continued from Council meeting of
March 18th at the request of the Applicant.
Report of the Planning Commission was read in which it was stated that after a
_ public hearing held on February 27, 1968, Commission had unanimously recom-
mended that rezoning be approved as requested. Planning Staff: report stated
this area had been rezoned from "TP" to "R-1" and that the approved map of this
area indicates 156 single family lots, and parks for the prescribed area; that
applicant has indicated that the Planned Development Combining District requested
would allow for a more comprehensive development plan, and provide the potential
for more living amenities both for the individual resident and the entire com-
munity.
William E. Rodgers, Director of Planning for Leslie
Properties, Inc., concurred with recommendations of
Planning Commission and Staff, as it was thought
builders would be allowed more flexibility and do a
better housing development under this Planned Devel-
opment Zoning.
In reply to questions, Acting City Attorney advised this hearing concerned only
a rezoning as no application had been filed for a Planned Development Permit,
but if, and when, such an application was made, public hearings before Planning
Commission and Council would be necessary in accordance with the new provision
in the Zoning Ordinance.
There being no communications or oral protest, Councilman Rosselli moved to
close the public hearing, seconded by Councilman Petersen and carried.
Councilman Rosselli moved to introduce Ordinance adding Section 60.4.6 to
Ordinance No. 1130, the Redwood City Zoning Ordinance, rezoning property within
the Redwood Peninsula area, seconded by Councilman Keckley and carried.
PUBLIC HEARING, Declaring Weeds a Nuisance and Ordering their abatement declared
open and affidavits of publication and mailing ordered filed. Two communications
were reported having been received, copies of which had been submitted to
Council, not in protest per se, but relating to weed abatement:
John M. O'Brien, 195 Opal Avenue, requesting weed
abatement on a City -owned easement adjacent to his
property.
Irwin T. McGuire, 2244-46 El Camino Real, giving
notice of his desire to abate weeds on his own
property, and protesting unsightly conditions of
adjacent properties.
461
Boa 25'68
