4 <br />He advised standards had been set and it was time for planning to commence to <br />validate the requirements as it relates to standards set in the General Plan <br />from the School Feasibility Study which had been made. He further stated <br />numerous: meetings had been held by Leslie Properties, Inc., with the Belmont <br />School District in order to resolve problems relating to schools. In this — <br />connection, he commented on the unique situation which was only related to <br />the first development area because of its long narrow physical shape and <br />bisected by interior waterways. <br />In response to questions concerning report submitted by City Manager on <br />weather forecasting services now available and costs involved, City Manager <br />advised reports were made by a professional weather reporter whose services <br />were widely used in the construction field and amazingly accurate on long <br />range predictions. He advised services were contracted for by DMJM and <br />City was receiving the report as a side benefit from them. Mr. Blair ad- <br />vised services cost $75.00 per year. <br />PUBLIC HEARING, Abatement of Public Nuisance, at 626-28 Brewster Avenue, declared <br />open and affidavits of posting and mailing ordered filed. Chief Building <br />Official was duly sworn in by City Clerk before presenting his testimony. <br />Written evidence to substantiate his oral testimony was submitted, including <br />the following: complete documentation of records which had been compiled as <br />the basis for his recommendation that this abandoned dilapidated building be <br />removed from this site; photographs submitted in evidence, and other reports <br />all supporting evidence of investigations made and substantiating his re- <br />commendation. It was noted no response had been made by property owners to <br />notices sent regarding this abatement proceeding. (For full Text - See City <br />Clerk's File - Abatement) <br />Mr. Martin Hall, Realtor, representing property owners, <br />advised property had been purchased by present owners <br />four years ago for purpose of building a 50 unit housing <br />complex which was now being designed by an architect, and <br />that when construction was begun it was proposed to tear <br />down the present structure. <br />He advised a contractor had stated it would take 30 days <br />before building could be removed, but also advised how <br />he had tried to watch the building and keep windows and <br />doors boarded up. He also stated that present property <br />owners live in San Francisco and that he had been unaware <br />until this point that there had been any proceedings under <br />way for ordering building's demolition. <br />Building Inspector asked that Mr. Hall have the building again boarded up <br />to keep vagrants and children out prior to demolition, to which Mr. Hall <br />agreed. <br />There being no communications or oral protest, Councilman Petersen moved to <br />close the public hearing, seconded by Councilman Rosselli and carried. <br />Councilman Rosselli moved to adopt RESOLUTION NO. 5655 DECLARING STRUCTURE <br />LOCATED AT 626-28 BREWSTER AVENUE IN THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY TO BE A PUBLIC <br />01% <br />
