He also stated he would not make the appointment to the Centennial Committee <br />or the representative to the County Health Department Review Board for the <br />same reason. <br />Councilman Rosselli, Chairman of Legislative Committee, asked that the Legislative <br />Committee meet on April 5th, 8:00 A.M., to review AB 202 regarding amendments <br />to the Brown Act which will affect advisory groups, even such as Council Com- <br />mittees, in order that a report might be made at the Council's next meeting <br />for consideration by Council to take immediate action. <br />Mayor Herkner advised he had also referred a report from the League of Califor- <br />nia Cities to the Committee relating to their recommendations concerning pro- <br />posed litigation. <br />COMMUNICATIONS: <br />John P. Connors, Chairman of Dumbarton Fire Pro- <br />tection District, expressing grievances as to <br />their fire protection services agreement, and <br />requesting a meeting with the Council to nego- <br />tiate and "get rid of this check" due the City <br />(communication hand delivered to City Clerk's <br />office this date (copy submitted to Council) <br />Councilman Rosselli moved to re -affirm the previous action taken by the Council <br />In instructing the Acting City Attorney to proceed with litigation to enforce <br />payment due the City under this agreement, seconded by Councilman Granger. <br />Acting City Attorney cautioned against further discussion of this matter because <br />of proposed litigation, unless Council wished to meet in Executive Session, and <br />suggested communication be referred to his office. City Manager assured Council <br />that a proper response would be made to the communication and action authorized <br />would proceed. (MINUTE ORDER #68-86) <br />Salinas Valley Highways Advisory Council communi- <br />cation directed to the City and asking assistance <br />of all interested Municipalities, Agencies and <br />Organizations, by way of any appropriate resolution <br />urging completion of U. S. Highway 101 from San <br />Ardo to San Lucas in Monterey County, as this 13.4 <br />mile "bottleneck" is the only remaining two lane <br />section of U.S. 101 between Healdsburg to the north <br />and the Mexican border to the South. <br />Councilman Keekley moved that Council authorize an appropriate resolution sup- <br />porting this cause to be prepared and sent as requested, seconded by Council- <br />man Rosselli and carried (MINUTE ORDER ,#68-87) <br />Communication addressed to Mayor Herkner from <br />the San Mateo County Fair & Convention Associa- <br />tion with enclosures of reprints of new advertise- <br />ments to be published in various publications as <br />scheduled by the Visitors and Convention Bureau. <br />Councilman Granger moved this communication be filed, seconded by Councilman <br />Rosselli and carried. <br />Arthur L. Ogilvie, of Planning Department, County <br />of Santa Clara, announcing a meeting to be held <br />April 4, 1968, 1:OOP.M., regarding the establish- <br />ment of a National Wildlife Refuge and Endangered <br />Species Preserve in the South San Francisco Bay <br />Baylands. <br />Mayor Herkner asked that this communication be acknowledged. <br />
