Motion carried on roll call vote, Council- <br />man Keckley being noted absent. <br />Councilman Bury moved to adopt RESOLUTION NO. 5665 IN SUPPORT OF POSITION OF SALINAS <br />VALLEY HIGHWAY ADVISORY COUNCIL URIGING COMPLETION OF U. S. HIGHWAY 101 IMPROVE- <br />MENTS, SAN ARDO TO SAN LUCAS, MONTEREY COUNTY, seconded by Councilman Rosselli. <br />Council requested this resolution be prepared as a result of the communication <br />from the Salinas Valley Highway Advisory Council read at the previous Council <br />meeting. Motion carried on roll call vote, Councilman Keckley being noted absent. <br />Legislative Committee Report. Councilman Rosselli, Chairman of Legislative Committee <br />reviewed the following proposed legislation considered of importance to theCity <br />and which is presently before the State Legislature: <br />1. Brown Act - Advisory Bodies (AB 202) Committee recommended Council oppose <br />and support the League of California Cities in opposition to the Bill in <br />the State Senate. <br />2. Bay Fill (SB 231) relating to powers of San Francisco Bay Conservation <br />and Development Commission, recommended for Council's approval. <br />3. Eminent Domain (AB 41) Recoverable Costs- relating to procedure amendments <br />of the Civil Code of Procedure, on which Committee recommended that no <br />position be taken by Council. <br />(For full text of Legislative Committee's report and recommendation See <br />City Clerk's File - Legislative Committee) <br />Councilman Granger moved to support Committee's recommendation that Council <br />oppose AB 202 relating to Brown Act, seconded by Councilman Bury. Councilman <br />Henderson read excerpts from League of California Cities bulletin on this <br />proposed legislation with which Committee had concurred. Motion carried on <br />roll call vote, Councilman Keckley being noted absent (MINUTE ORDER #68-89A) <br />Councilman Henderson moved to accept Committee's recommendation for support <br />of SB 231 relating to legislation on Bay Fill, seconded by Councilman Bury. <br />Councilman Henderson suggested that the three groups that had communicated <br />with Council and expressed interest in this measure (Edward Renick, Council for <br />Governmental Research, and Committee for Green Foothills) be notified of Council's <br />action (Memo 4/9/68). Motion carried on roll call vote, Councilman Keckley being <br />noted absent. (MINUTE ORDER #68-89-B) <br />Councilman Bury moved to accept Committee's recommendation on AB 41 relating to <br />proposed eminent domain procedure amendments by taking no action, seconded by <br />Councilman Henderson. Acting City Attorney stated that there had been no evidence <br />in City procedures on eminent domain that this proposed procedure was necessary. <br />Motion carried on roll call vote, Councilman Keckley being noted absent (MINUTE <br />ORDER #68-89-C) <br />DAMAGE CLAIM of James C. Althoff, President of Woodside Restaurant Corporation (Charlie <br />Gleason's) 768 Woodside Road, for property damages alleged to have been caused <br />by back-up of City Sewer, denied and referred to insurance carrier on motion of <br />483 <br />0 SU <br />
