484 - <br />Councilman Petersen, seconded by Councilman Bury and carried (MINUTE ORDER #68-90) <br />ACCOUNTS PAYABLE, Nos. 65906 to 66126 inclusive, totaling $560,352.38, approved on <br />motion of Councilman Bury, seconded by Councilman Henderson and carried. <br />COMMUNICATIONS: <br />Copy of communication addressed to Mayor Herkner from <br />Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors commending the <br />City Council on its recent action in selecting present <br />general area for an expansion study of a new Civic <br />Center, and urging Council to proceed without delay to <br />complete the study proposed. <br />Mayor Herkner asked that a copy of this communication be furnished to each of Council <br />members. <br />Division of Highways advising of meetings to be held <br />by each of the Highway Districts to discuss procedure <br />and general principles involved in a study being con- <br />ducted by them for eventual recommendations to the <br />1969 Legislature, and inviting attendance of represent- <br />atives from the City. Meeting originally scheduled for <br />April 10th in this communication noted to have been now <br />changed to April 18th, 1968, 2 p.m. County Government <br />Center (copy submitted to Council) <br />City of San Anselmo relative to their discussion of <br />position taken by the Santa Clara County Board of Super- <br />visors re arding ABAG and their concurrence with this <br />position copy submitted to Council) <br />City of San Anselmo advising of their opposition to the <br />proposed San Francisco commuter tax and urging other Bay <br />Governments to do likewise (copy submitted to Council) <br />California Highway Commission regarding policies which <br />had been adopted by them by resolutions on the planning <br />and design of highway projects when parks are involved, <br />and asking that copies of the resolution enclosed be <br />distributed to those under City's jurisdiction that might <br />be interested (copy submitted to Council) <br />Notification from West Bay Rapid Transit Authority of a <br />helicopter tour being planned for Monday, April 29, 1968, <br />and asking that the Mayor, or other representative of <br />the City accept their invitation for this tour (copy sub- <br />mitted to Council) <br />Mayor Herkner asked that this communication be held until after the seating of <br />the new Council next week. <br />Councilman Rosselli asked that the following two items be placed on Council's <br />Agenda next week: (1) progress report on the Downtown Plan; (2) Current <br />report on the downtown traffic survey. <br />Councilman Granger asked that record indicate he did not approve any of the <br />electroliers displayed and proposed for Redwood Shores, as felt they were not <br />bright enough. In reply to questioning as to schedule fbr.display of these <br />lights, City Manager reminded Council that he had reported two weeks ago a <br />display of several electroliers had been set out at the Sewage Treatment <br />Plant temporarily, and asked that those interested ask for a night display <br />by the Staff Operator at the Plant, but the electroliers may have been re- <br />moved by this time. <br />City Manager reviewed last week's bus operation at request of Council which <br />he felt indicated a most favorable response. <br />M 8 '66 <br />
