3615 <br />Councilman Granger questioned Council procedure for recruitment of a City <br />Attorney and was reminded by Councilman Keckley of the Committee that had <br />been set up comprising two Council members, himself and Councilman Petersen, <br />and two local attorneys, and that a number of applications for the position <br />were on file and being reviewed by the Committee. Councilman Granger moved that <br />the communication from Mr. Maloney relative to Motorcycle Hill be referred to <br />Staff. Carmel Catholic Church. <br />ON ROLL CALL the following were noted present: Councilmen Robert H. Bury, Floyd <br />D. Granger, Mary W. Henderson, Paul C. Keckley, Herbert G. Petersen, John S. <br />Rosselli, Mayor Sidney D. Herkner and City Clerk Helen C. Moore. Also noted present <br />were City Manager Howard C. Ullrich, City Attorney Richard E. Gardella, Assistant <br />City Manager Henry V. Burget, Police Chief William Faulstich, Fire Chief J. L. <br />Lodi, Planning Director Ken Schroeter, Director of Public Works J. Louis Scherer, <br />Chief Building Official Charles Gyselbrecht, and Deputy City Clerk Marian McCrindle. <br />Councilman Petersen moved to approve Minutes of Regular Meeting of January 15, 1968, <br />as mailed, seconded by Councilman Bury and carried. <br />Loyalty Oath administered and Certificate of Appointment presented to Frank P. Guida <br />on his reappointment to the Personnel Board. <br />PUBLIC HEARING on Notice to Abate Nuisance at 323 Center Street (sub -standard accessory <br />building on the property). It was reported Notice to Abate was posted by the <br />Chief Building Official on January 4, 1968, after notifying the property owners <br />on November 27, 1967, of the need to abate the nuisance. <br />Chief Building Official requested Council to terminate these proceedings as <br />owners had complied with the abatement requested by correcting all the deficiencies, <br />in that accessory building's electric wiring and plumbing had been removed, and <br />structure which had been attached to the legally authorized building. Councilman <br />Petersen moved to terminate abatement proceeding as requested by the Chief <br />Building Official, because abatement requested had been complied with, seconded <br />by Councilman Bury and carried. (MINUTE ORDER #68-25) <br />Application of LESLIE PROPERTIES, INC., for exception to the Subdivision Ordinance to <br />allow Lots 18, 20, 24, 26, 42, 44, 48, and 50, Block B, Redwood Peninsula, to <br />have street frontages of 461, and that Lots 19, 25, 43, and 49, Block B, Redwood <br />Peninsula, to have street frontages of 401, instead of the required 501, pre- <br />sented for consideration. <br />
